Tried to run the 1.83 installer on my Windows Vista PC but it refused to go past the first screen and the two "Radio" buttons in bottom right disclaimer screen to click on were missing / see-through.

Have no problem installing on my Windows 8.1 PC.

Are newer versions after 1.80 not compatible with Vista?

Did you restart your system in between? It may be just a glitch in the system.

No system restart just exited and restarted BoincTasks after last hang-up 23 hrs ago.  Still working fine. Thanks for your advice.

What was the previous version, and what's the version that you are using now?

The only thing that should use CPU time is memory, go to BoincTasks settings -> History.
"Smart mode"
Minimum update time 30 seconds or more
Maximum update time 120 seconds.

Set the Remove history to a lower value.
Check Move to long term history after 1 days.

I have updated settings per your recommendations.
Strange thing is it's now been running fine almost 21 hours with out any problems. I will post back if I see any more problems.

Since upgrading to this version I am randomly seeing unusually HIGH CPU usage times of anywhere between 30 to almost 50% after it has been running anywhere between 8 to 12 hours causing almost everything to grind to a halt on my PC until I shutdown and restart BoincTasks again.

Windows Vista (32-bit) Home Premium with all the latest updates
3GB RAM
320 GB HDD (200+GB free)
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
