Well a bit late maybe for a response to this topic.
I had have that scenario when I was at the hospital. I did even use the remote connection to surf the web in-direct via the home computer because the internet connection in one hospital room was so horrible that it was faster callling the homepages over the home computer then calling it over my Laptop which was connecting via the mobile phone network and only doing EDGE connections. That is no option in today's internet world.

I guess that the interconnect between BT and TThrottle has overcome this question.
So just one 'Nice to know' -idea for people like Sailors which might connect over a low bandwidth connections. Or other people which have no choice then to connect via low bandwidth connections like me in this specific hospital room.

I apologise for nor visiting this Forum for such a long time. That's my life.......

Well, I don't have realy experience with remote controls/access of computers. But I have a project running, where I want to give some people access to one computer under my 'administration'. So, the program TeamViewer is working good, is free for private use, and have their own dynDNS service so to say. I didn't make accessive testing up to now, but it looks promissing. If connected, you can call up many details of the remote PC, propably including the IP adress. And it is working through a router, that I did test already. http://www.teamviewer.com/de/index.aspx?split=A It also gives you the possibility of a VPN. That would maybe be low bandwidth compatible in case Corsair like to check over an INMARSAT connection without paying for the high speed modus of B or F, whatever it would be. Yes, I am a mariner too. Or will be again when I get my helth certificate again.

The runtime is there, due to other programs. 2005 and 2008. If the runtime which is used already integrated in the Mail prog, how can I help you to track down this problem? Obviously it is working for most testers at least. Otherwise there should have been more reports, right? Is there a possibility to turn on a debug mode where the program is going to save data about the crash?

The path is C:\Users\%user%\ and then propably "AppData"

there was an interesting thing when I tried this version. First I installed it under VISTA 32. It didn't recognise my GPU. Then I installed Win7 64. Now TThrottle see my GPU.

Maybe you vaguely remember, that I never got the mailing program to work. Still the same probelm. It never gets actually to work. I get this C++ runtime error "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. [snip]" I read somewhere here, that you put all necessary files directly to the program, so that it don't call up the runtime anymore. You did it also for the Mail program?

There is no EMail log. We had that already, the program is crashing, before the log is written. I will send you the messages from TThrottle via EMail.

Hello Fred,

I saw you thread over at SETI, so I installed your latest version. I get "Unable to write to xml file" when I try to enter an account key. Also when I connected to localhost and then close the program so that it save the computer I get that message.

When I hit the "Update" button, it tells me, it is unable to connect to the internet. The internet connection is no trouble. The program is not blocked by the Firewall.

Win7 64bit on my Laptop now. AMD Turion64 X2 with 3gig of RAM and ATI Radeon HD2600 (?mobility?)

Item no two I would also find usefull, it would be unnecessary to stop BOINC and TThrottle before starting a game.

after installing the RC, I tried the Mail Program. C++ give an error and exit it. You have an EMail about it.

Try sending me the email log. C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\eFMer\TThrottle\maillog.txt
Did you remove the previous version before installing.

There is no log file. There is even no eFMer Folder in that place. Nor is it on D: In the very first version of the prog I got authentification error. The actual Version is since that the only one which I tried. Sorry. Can it be a problem to have the C++ 2005 & 2008 version parallel installed? Yesterday my system hang up completely a couple of times. I guess my installation is slowly but sure going south. As soon as I found my VISTA installation DVD I will kill it. Should solve couple of problems which I have.

The program never came that far.. it crashed before it was at the point of writing a log file.
It may be the Visual Studio installation.
I wait to see if I get a second report of a crash of the mail program.

I just tried to instal the latest CATALYST control center. The installer crashed. And I'm not the first one. Microsoft knowledge base gives this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961894
That should explain my problems with the TThrottle Mail.

I did not yet make this machine new. Maybe the error is in my machine. Will start Backup today. I did not copy this test Version into the TThrottle folder. Is it required or not?

Well, I found my installation DVD. I got another crash nearly two hours ago just when I was typing an E-Mail and tried to upload an attachemend. Guess my machine don't like skripts of any kind in the moment. All crashes occured when I was working with programs / websites which are either known or suspected to work with skripts.
So, I will do some bakup stuff and get the installation goind. *sigh* I hate that.
