100 = disable is ok.
But only if the task is recognized as a GPU task.
So there should be (cuda) or (cal) or whatever just after the application name.
Another better check is in the filtered tasks it should say (gpu)
It may be that that CAL is still more or less Beta and not implemented as it should.

I think that should be like CPU WU, so, 0 = disable is ok.

these GPU WU are recognized properly as gpu, at the end of the application name is shown:
- without filter "ati13ati"
- with filter and more than one WU "gpu", only one "ati13ati".

quite curious is if I use the stock application is fully recognised as GPU task in BT, but if I use
the optimized application with app_info.xml BT shows it as CPU task.

but the thing is if they are running (the stock one) and is running at 99% of GPU, correct, but
color is displayed as erroneous ratio GPU/CPU because I've set as 25%, this should means for
me if the ratio is below 25% should be coloured as erroneous but if it over this percentage should
means that everything  is going well.
That is because the app_info.xml is incorrect, or the task is a CPU one with GPU support.
<plan_class>ati</plan_class> or something similar.
And the class is used to distinguish between CPU and GPU.
No plan class is CPU, as it should be.

Hi Fred,

"Efficiency GPU __% warning when above. (100 = Disabled)"

until now I could not check it because with ATI optimized applications looks like
that doesn't work, but I have attached to Collatz Conjecture project where
there is a stock application for ATI, if the stock application is used in BW is shown
as GPU WU, I have set to 25% the GPU warning, but now I check it and there is
one error, because I want that error will be shown when the GPU efficiency is
below 25%, that means that is something strange if the GPU performance is
below such value.

so, should be defined and working as below:
"Efficiency GPU __% warning when below. (0 = Disabled)"

there is something that could be useful for future version of BT, when used optimized
application for ATI/AMD GPU there are consider by BT as CPU, if stock application exist
and used in one project BT considers as GPU task.

Why?? (I don't know)
100 = disable is ok.
But only if the task is recognized as a GPU task.
So there should be (cuda) or (cal) or whatever just after the application name.
Another better check is in the filtered tasks it should say (gpu)

Anansi 1034_0 does not show as completed in the history panel, instead it shows as updating only and reporting OK.  It never completes. As you can see in the messages panel everything looks like it completed okay.

It would be nice to have the copy abillity in the history panel like there is in the message panel.  This comes in handy when you want to show an inconsistant line(s) from the history panel in the forum area.
Presently there is no way to do this except write line(s0 down on paper and manually enter them in the forum topic.
Is now in the wish list.

Hey all, the "show temperature window" worked and then it disappeared. I tried to reinstall it couple times already but couldn't get it back. Anyone has any idea how to get it back? It disappeared when I randomly checked the "small" box on the option menu for the temperature window.
Preference -> check "Show temperature window"
If there is a Hotkey active press the hotkey. Or restart TThrottle.

ya...that didn'twork.
It may be the windows is off screen somehow.

Start->start the program: regedit

Goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->eFMeR->TThrottle
Make sure TThrottle is closed.
Delete the folder floatingdlg and everything in it.
Restart TThrottle

Windows or the program can shut down any minute even when writing a file.
When this happens one of the backup files is used.

Hi all,  :D

the history one I think is essential but should start the line with the ending of calculation time, on that way there is a very good reference if any computer has been idle for a while (a problem, or empty warehouse, etc.)

It starts with upload, and that's when a task completes.

WU ready to report and no time stamp until reported.

still the sorting preferences in Tasks windows is not saved, e.g. if I select only 2 sorting
columns after restarting the program in tasks the 3rd column appear again.
You mean the combined mode?
I will add a time for completion.

Fred,
I had to abort a task earlier today and I noticed that when the running task on the same machine was suspended due to CPU usage limits, the aborted task inidcated that in addition to being an aborted task, it also read as a suspended one.

In a normally running task in the status column I typically have either "Running" or "Running, suspended:cpu usage limit", depending on the actual state of processing.  In the aborted task it switched back an forth between "Aborted" and "Aborted, suspended:cpu usage limit".  I don't get this same switching when I have completed tasks that are waiting to be reported.

I don't think it is really a problem, more of an observation, as it doesn't effect the processing or monitoring of my workstations.

Walt

I could remove the message suspended:cpu usage limit completely. BOINC Manager doesn't show it.
But even better you could use TThrottle.

FAQ / History tab
November 13, 2009, 11:48:00 AM
You first have to enable the history tab! Go to Extra -> Settings BoincTasks -> History and check "Enable history logging"

More information about the history in the BoincTasks setting dialog.

What tasks are displayed?
All tasks from upload to the time set for delete.

If you see a * after Reported OK it means the task is last seen in uploading, nothing to worry about.
A + means the tasks was missed but recovered from the BOINC client.

What about Missed? Missed isn't an error but BoincTasks didn't seen the tasks going from Running to "Uploading" or "Ready to report".
As of BOINC 7.2.23 BoincTasks is able to retrieve missed tasks. You need to set history mode to "smart mode" (default)

If you run an older BOINC version and you see a lot of Missed change the following setting:

In BoincTasks Settings->History set "Minimum update time" lower e.g. to 2 seconds and enable "Smart mode".

Long term history

If you have a lot of tasks in the history, it may be wise to move them to long term History.
Extra->BoincTasks settings->History.
Enable "Move to long term history after" 0 hours.

Use: Show->Long term history to view the history.
You can filter on computer/project and time period.

Files
History files are stored in the default (xml) directory. You can modify this folder in Extra->Settings->Expert->Override default (xml) Folder.
In Vista/Win7 the default folder location is C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\eFMer\BoincTasks\history
In XP c:\documents and settings\[username]\Application Data\eFMer\BoincTasks\history
Don't open any file while BoincTasks is running, but make a copy and open the copy instead.

The name is history_filename.cvsx. There are 3 copies cvs is the most recent, followed by cvs1 and cvs2.
When updating the history cvs2 is deleted, cvs1 is renamed cvs2, cvs is renamed cvs1 and at last cvs is the new history file.

The file format is:
LINE 1: x.xx  <BoincTasks version>
LINE 2: xxxxxxx <The computer name, as used in the file name>
LINE 3: BoincTasks History <This string is checked to assure a valid file>
LINE 4: <Comment line>
LINE 5: <Data lines, they start with the number 1> <The numbers are checked to assure a valid file>
LINE FORE LAST: <Highest id number,  checked to assure a valid file>
LINE LAST: Check! <This string is checked to assure a valid file>
Even small changes in the file can make the file invalid!

Hi all,

I have try a few version, all have the same problem. If I have 9 'seti@home' '6.03 setiathome_enhanced' jobs and 9 'World Community Grid' '6.03 Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2' jobs, then all 18 jobs are shown as 'seti@home' '6.03 setiathome_enhanced' jobs
Before version 0.28 everything is filtered on the version number only. So 603 Seti is the same as 603 WCG.
That's something that has been solved in the upcoming version 0.28. In this version they will appear separately.
I expect this new version at the end of this week (November 15).
