I've submitted a false positive to ClamAV. I've never even heard of the other AV causing the false positive so I'll leave that for someone else. We'll see what happens.

My system has started reporting that the setup program for BoincTasks contains adware, specifically Win.Adware.Eorezo-528. This has only recently started occurring.

Virustotal confirms that it's only ClamAV that is reporting this:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/a792a11062f6dc011f7b8089df06f477b0eb97dc83bf7702fff535b8a6b1328b/analysis/1454655310/

Looks like a false positive. However, ClamAV can and is used as a virus scanner in some proxy solutions. Indeed it works well with Squid. The result being that the BoincTasks application could be getting blocked by proxies before it gets chance to be blocked by Clam running on a desktop system.

I forgot it was running under Wine! I'll look into this further and update later.

Fails here too in 1.5.8.

05 December 2013 - 15:41:11 Connect, no IP found for MAC address ---- Host: Samsunggalaxy, IP: samsunggalaxy, Port: 32416, socket not ready

ARP gives the correct IP address for this device.

(192.168.0.2) at 10:1d:c0:4c:XX:XX [ether] on eth0
(Removed last four characters).

It connects fine entering the IP address once the MAC is removed.

As you can see I only have six machines attached, but it doesn't matter if it's only one: the result is the same.

I read that minimising it should reduce CPU load, but it still runs at 50%.

Unfortunately its a Windows app and so getting it talking to the Raspberry Pi's is not the simplest of things to do.

That's utter crap. The RPC is OS-agnostic. Setting up a Pi for remote access is identical on all platforms.

Anyone wanting to buy a Pi should know the first thing about computers, or what's the point?

Questions / High CPU utilisation
December 02, 2013, 09:46:59 AM
I am running BoincTasks with Wine on Ubuntu Precise. I don't currently have a Windows machine to compare as Windows 7 borked. The machine is dual core.

BoincTasks runs at around 60% CPU which is excessive. Is this due to Wine (wineserver runs at around 10%) or is this due to the application itself?

TIA
