Title: BT 1.07

A few minutes ago (around 16:40) I've noticed a cryptic "20100-state" in History. [...] a few seconds later the line completely disappeared!
Seen again in 1.07 (however I'm not exactly sure with the "20100" - I've copied it in clipboard and later overwrote the clipboard contents with something else :( (I'm occasionally missing a clipboard history)

Could be 0x20100 that's waiting to run, the running state is in the history, the 0x20100 is removed.
But I put the remove function in a 5 minute time loop, that's the problem.
Shouldn't show the 0x20100, is in the bug list.

I've got a BT rule(s) notification:
QuoteOznam od BoincTasks
Active BoincTasks rule(s): 1

However,

  • all my rules are set to either "show log" or "show nothing", but some rule got logged regardless of it,
  • the "more... (http://file:///C:/Users/MyUserName/AppData/Roaming/eFMer/BoincTasks/html/__bt_rules__)" link points to nowhere (or some template name? see the link),
  • is "1" just "one rule" or "the rule number one"? Displaying its name (or completely with computer + project + app + task name) would be more valuable,
  • Re: New parts to translate for BT 1.07 (http://www.efmer.eu/forum_tt/index.php?topic=207.msg4147#msg4147) is missing "Active BoincTasks rule(s)" text.
Yep the text isn't shown yet, thinking, thinking. I will probably show the full text there.
The link goes nowhere it shows the rules log.
The active text isn't translatable, as its still experimental and all the other text is mostly English anyway.

A FONT tag for collapsed notices contains double "<FONT " header:
__InsertNoticeCollapse__&nbsp<FONT <FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=3><B>__InsertNoticeTitle__</B></FONT>

Ah. True! Now I remember I've not seen the blue underscore anymore. Congratulation!

Fred, I use three tools of you. :)
BoincTasks, BOINC Rescheduler, Priority.
All are together in the systray.
Normally Rescheduler and BoincTasks are side by side in my systray- sometimes I press the wrong icon.. ;D

Priority have a P and Rescheduler have a S in the systray icon.
BoincTasks have no additional letter, why? ;)
Maybe you could add a T to the icon?

You can set up a hot key for BoincTasks.

Hot key? What's this? :o
I don't know how to do this. ???

But OTOH, I click left on the mouse over the systray icon - and BT, BR or P open. ;)
That's faster. ;D

It was just an idea.
Maybe one of the next versions could have a T in the icon?
This would be nice. *thumb up*

BTW. If you could send me the icon/s, I could do it for you. ;)

Extra->BoincTasks Settings->General
"Hotkey to show/hide BoincTasks"

Click the mouse on the field to the right, with none or nein in it.
Press a key like Ctrl together with F12.
This key combination can now be used to show BT and hide it, was quicker.

After installing v1.07 I starting having BT crashing/restart problems which got worse and worse (several/hour).  Reinstalled v1.06 and the crashes are gone so there may be a problem with one of the changes in v1.07...

Indeed 1.07 has a more serious bug, only on line of code. :o
Strangely, it doesn't affect my own test computers, only the Linux machine crashed.
The V 1.08 should be out soon.

Notices are not correctly being sorted (time-wise) - IIRC blocks of incoming notices should be sorted according to their "TimeArrival"...
Is the sorting correct in the BOINC Manager?
I didn't change any sorting, the list is straight from the Client.
I'm now behind a machine, which BT 1.05 displays Notices with the default template (no arrival time displayed). It displays 8 notices received from the client, with their creation times, sorted 28.5. 27.5. 25.5. 16.5. 26.5. (all 5 from SETI), 8.6. (BOINC test project), 10.6. 8.6. (from the client - can not recognize host address in remote_hosts.cfg).
B.Manager 6.12.28 displays these messages (mostly) in correct order, but one "can not recognize host address in remote_hosts.cfg" from 8.6. is placed at the end... But the orders definitely do differ.

On a third machine (with BT 1.04), 8 other notices are sorted equally in both BT and B.Manager  6.12.28.

BTW, when BT is connected to 2 machines, wasn't it supposed to display notices from both of them?
Everything will be corrected in 1.07.
In 1.07, I can still see the messages sorted pretty randomly...
BOINC 6.12.28's Manager seems to be displaying the messages sorted correctly.

I don't see that happening.
Now sort on project name and date.
Can you email me the notices.html file, so I can see what you mean.

I've missed the new "1) on project 2) on date". But it is not even according to this order, see:

SETI@home: storage service is back up
We have migrated storage service to thumper. Now it's a matter of transferring raw data to thumper, preprocessing it, and splitting it. This will all take some time. The Overland server is up and its raid is operational (thanks Overland!). Diagnosis of this unit is proceeding.

SETI@home: Change of management at Arecibo.
ML1 pointed out an article about the change of management of the Arecibo Observatory. Cornell University, which has managed Arecibo since it opened, will no longer be managing the Observatory. A consortium of organizations will new be handling the management. We don't expect this to affect SETI@home much. It may mean changes to how observing is scheduled and how much observing time we receive per year.

SETI@home: work generation temporarily halted (update)
The storage server has been repaired. It will take some hours to resync the RAID. We will let that process complete before restarting work generation.

(I'll send the file per e-mail).

Why not "1) on received, 2) on created" as BOINC Manager is doing it? Otherwise it would be good to mark newly coming (but not yet read) notices. If you imagine that all my say 37
attached projects (on X monitored clients) would use notices as thoroughly as SETI or PrimeGrid, then I'll have no chance to find "2 new notices" buried among World Community Grid's section, down under 187 other projects' notices. Or I'd have to thoroughly collapse each read notice immediately after having seen it, to be able to recognize any newcomers, alphabetically placed downwards the list.

BTW the newly updated forum code is suddenly behaving ill on Chrome browser - when writing longer paragraph, it is not being wrapped inside the message's editbox, but kept as 1 wide line, the editbox automatically resizes itself horizontally and the whole window scrolls itself to the right.
Besides, with previous versions it was possible to resize a message's editbox (by grabbing and moving the editbox' bottom right corner - I've seen this functionality on Chrome and previously in Safari), now it's gone, but there is some short horizontal "double-line" below the editbox - probably a holder to resize the box vertically, but (now on Chrome?) I'm unable to grab it with mouse cursor - any other way to resize the box? It is so impossible to preview posts with longer lines :( Or reach any buttons (Send, Preview, formatting, smileys...)

The sorting wasn't done on group.

Sorting should be fixed, now on group (from server, client, BoincTasks, TThrottle), project, created time.
You can collapse read messages, or delete them to clear up the long list.

I've just seen a case, where, on the Tasks tab, two preempted tasks (both kept in memory) had large "uncheckpointed" interval warnings:

PrimeGrid 6.09 Cullen Prime Search (LLR) llrCUL_91107183_2 04d,04:07:57 (03d,13:45:26) 76.132% [0] 03d,13:45:26
Spinhenge@home 3.12 Monte Carlo Metropolis 02_core_shell_nanoparticle_229205_0 05:01:23 (04:15:36) 72.748% [0] 04:15:36

Interestingly the interval lengths were equal to both the used CPU time...

From their Properties:
Projekt PrimeGrid
Meno pracovnej jednotky (WU) llrCUL_91107183
CPU čas pri poslednom checkpointe 03d,13:45:26
CPU čas 03d,13:45:26
Uplynutý čas 04d,04:07:57
Dokončená časť 76.133 %
=================================================
Projekt Spinhenge@home
Meno pracovnej jednotky (WU) 02_core_shell_nanoparticle_229205
CPU čas pri poslednom checkpointe 00:00:00
CPU čas 04:15:36
Uplynutý čas 05:01:23
Dokončená časť 72.749 %

According to it, the Spinhenge task has indeed not checkpointed yet. But the PrimeGrid task did (and what is interesting, always once more 5 minutes after being preempted :)) - let's clear it on the PrimeGrid forum):
