Questions / Re: Not reading temp on 2nd AMD GPU

Thanks for the reply.
I am using GPU-Z to get the temp reading for the 2nd AMD GPU.

Update
I read in other posts that sometime there are issues with motherboards.  The MB (Z87-A) I put these cards in is fairly old (~7 y).  I have another computer that is only about 2 years old (Prime Z270-A).  I plan to try the dual RX 580's in there to see if it makes a difference.  I just need to run out my BOINC GPU work units first.

Questions / Not reading temp on 2nd AMD GPU
May 15, 2020, 02:10:31 PM
I just upgraded GPU cards on my computers.  I had a single GTX 760 card in each of two computers.  Currently I have both GTX 760 cards in one box and two new RX 580 cards in the other box.  In the one box, TT 7.52 sees both GTX 760 cards fine but the other box (TT 7.52 & 7.72) only sees one RX 580 card.  Other programs such as Afterburner and GPU-Z see both AMD cards.  The computers are mostly used for BOINC crunching.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

QuoteDid you try: Expert tab: Reconnect every 120 seconds.  Will try to reconnect if the connection is lost.

The reconnect time is set for 120 seconds.  I stopped the VPN connection, and the other computers did reconnect.  I will try some experiments to try and find what may be causing the problem.  It may be 4 or 5 days before I can try anything, I am going on a business trip.
Thanks, Ron

I just started using OpenVPN to create a VPN portal on a W7 computer that BOINC Tasks 1.66 is installed on.  I have 3 other W7 computers on a home LAN network that I use BOINC Tasks to monitor.  All 4 computers have fixed IP addresses.  BOINC Tasks loses connection with the 3 networked computers when I create the VPN portal.  Can anyone suggest a fix for this?

UPDATE - Everything seemed to work fine for about 10 hours after creating the VPN portal, then I lost the network connections to the other 3 computers.  I was not working on any of the computers at the time.

Thanks, Ron

Thanks Fred!

Looked right at it and didn't notice it!   :-[

I set it for Manual at 15 sec.

Questions / Change update time on Task tab
March 25, 2014, 02:48:23 AM
I am using release 1.58 on Windows 7 64 bit.  How can I change the default update time on the Task tab?  It is currently at 3 seconds.  I would like to change it to either 10 or 15 seconds.
I have this same release running on a Windows 7 32 bit machine and the Update time is 6 seconds.

It would be nice to see the computed benchmark numbers, maybe on the "Computers" tab

Place C:\Program Files\eFMer\TThrottle\examples\tthrottle.xml in the same folder as the .exe.
Remove the comments around

<GPU_SETUP>
  <ati_number_gpu> 0 </ati_number_gpu>
<GPU_SETUP>

But... I've never tested it on 0  ::).

It doesn't like 0 :(.  Would I need to change "ati" to "nvidia" or 'cuda"?

TT is not seeing the ATI on-board GPU on my other box.  This is probably why TT is not displaying a GPU temp on that box.

Questions / Disable GPU temp display?
January 09, 2011, 04:15:09 AM
Is there a way to disable the GPU temp display in the Temperature Window and In the Main Program display?

I am running TThrottle 3.11 on 2 machines, both machines have on-board GPU's.
One machine has an ATI GPU and the GPU temp does not display anywhere on this machine.
The other machine has an nVidia GPU and TT displays a constant 32 degF temperature.

Neither GPU is being used for any purpose other than normal graphic display.

Thanks, Ron K.

Wish List / Move columns to different tab?
December 30, 2010, 10:34:47 PM
I just downloaded and started using BT 0.93.  I am looking for a replacement for BOINCView, and BT may fit the bill.  Great Job!

Just a thought, I think at least 2 columns currently in the "Tasks" tab (Temperature & Debt) might work out better in different tabs.  Put "Temperature" in the "Computer" tab, and "Debt" in the "Projects" tab.
