Title: milkyway not detected
Post by: Smokyr on November 21, 2010, 07:08:13 PM
Hi,

I have a trouble with TThrottle V2.20 (BOINC 6.10.58 and Windows 7-64, up to date) and Milkyway project:

21 November 2010 - 20:35:25 Nombre de programmes correspondant (Processus) : 8
Cpu: collatz_2.00_windows_x86_64__sse.exe, PID: 2696, Fil : 3
Cpu: einsteinbinary_abp2_3.08_windows_intelx86.exe, PID: 4580, Fil : 3
Cpu: einsteinbinary_abp2_3.08_windows_intelx86.exe, PID: 4796, Fil : 3
Cpu: einsteinbinary_abp2_3.08_windows_intelx86.exe, PID: 5752, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2564, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2192, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2288, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2400, Fil : 3

If I do nothing, milkyway does not appear in running tasks of TThrottle => Ok, so I add Milkyway as a program and it is detected as a CPU task.

21 November 2010 - 20:49:58 Nombre de programmes correspondant (Processus) : 9
Cpu: milkyway_0.23_windows_x86_64__ati13ati.exe, PID: 4264, Fil : 3
Cpu: collatz_2.00_windows_x86_64__sse.exe, PID: 2696, Fil : 3
Cpu: einsteinbinary_abp2_3.08_windows_intelx86.exe, PID: 4580, Fil : 3
Cpu: einsteinbinary_abp2_3.08_windows_intelx86.exe, PID: 4796, Fil : 3
Cpu: einsteinbinary_abp2_3.08_windows_intelx86.exe, PID: 5752, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2564, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2192, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2288, Fil : 3
Cpu: einstein_s5gc1_3.02_windows_intelx86__s5gcesse2.exe, PID: 2400, Fil : 3

But as it is a GPU task, I try to add it to GPU: I put the name Milkyway (in exclude CPU/Include GPU) => always detected as CPU
Same if I put "ati" or the complete name ie milkyway_0.23_windows_x86_64__ati13ati.exe

What is wrong ? (And my GPU go over heated)

(and sorry for my English)

Hi,

I have a trouble with TThrottle V2.20 (BOINC 6.10.58 and Windows 7-64, up to date) and Milkyway project:
Try V 3.11. http://www.efmer.eu/boinc/download_beta.html (http://www.efmer.eu/boinc/download_beta.html)
The detection in 3.11 is different and should have no problems in detecting MW.
Make sure that in the BOINC tab "Connect with BOINC client" (below) is checked.

Fred,

Thanks fo your support and your quick answer.

I have installed V3.11 and I should keep you inform as soon as I get new WU from MW, using the GPU.

Thanks a lot, it works

And I do not know if you change something regarding regulation, but I have the feeling that temperature is much more stable than before.

What kind of regulation process do you use ? PID ?
