I'm slowly beginning with Slovak (Slovensky, 1052, SKY) translation.

But: I've immediately faced one problem: code page. Pure ANSI is for Slovak language not sufficient.
UTF8 or ...? Texts like "Zvyšný čas" ("Time Left") displays like "ZvyšnĂ˝ Ä..." (like if it were displayed as written in Eastern Europe (1250) code page).

     

OK, I've written the file in Central European (1250) codepage - now BT displays it just fine.
So, Fred, you can expect the Slovak translation in a couple of weeks

Can someone make a step for step manual how to set up a remote connection using a dynamic ip address.

I know this causes problems when you don't select the the default language.
The next version will store the language differently. Now it stores the list sequence, this obviously goes wrong when adding new languages in alphabetically order.
One way to cope with this is to move all languages from the /lang folder except the English version BoincTasks_ENU.btlang to another location.
Select the default language and move the languages back to the original folder.
And that's why this version will not become a release one.

On Win 7 64 with only the localhost attached and 29 Tasks.

There is a new version V 0.38, don't use this version before you completed your translations.

I've seen in the wish list of BoincTasks that for version 0.38 is scheduled one unified installer for x32 & x64, that's a great idea.

when would be the same for TThrottle?? see below message from me asking the same some time ago.

It took a while....
I just installed the latest version of the installer (to build the install). What I've see so far looks promising, when everything works out, TThrottle will be next.

Line 294: "Spalte Nutzung abkürzen" ist kürzer und imho auch verständlich (is korter en ook verstaanbar)
Line 31: "Throttle" oder "Drossel"? Soll es ein Eigenname sein oder ein Wort? (Zou het en naam of en woord zijn)
Line 159ff e.a.: "Sidebar" oder "Seitenleiste" bzw. "Seitenmenü"?

Sonst: Ich bin für Pins version (Ik ben voor Pins versie)

294 I like the shorter version.
31 In the actual program drosseln is used as Throttle.
159 I see Sidebar and Seitenleiste uses most, its not a menu. The second word is more German.

I checked the file and I corrected some. Please recheck it.  

The new file can be found under BoincTasks_DEU.btlang and under BoincTasks_v0.37_german.lang_v0.2.html you can see the difference (left side: my changes).

I'm nearly finished but cannot find a suitable translation for "Condense use column".

I hope i found the correct translation but it's a little bit to long. [Line 294]

By the way I use this very nice program since version 0.21! Thanks for it.  

Edit: I used the v0.37 (32Bit)

294 is a bit long but there is plenty of space there. I make the field a bit larger.
If you found text that didn't fit in the dialogs please let me know, because I can easily overlook some.

I'm getting ready for a new release and more text to translate.

No problem pushing, me.. This will push me over the edge and start trying.

For a lot of allocations it doesn't matter if there is a connection or not.
And the combined mode is more efficient.
For the non combined mode every window will consume about the same.

But I expect an overall reduction of 2/3. The reduction will decrease with the amount of lines shown. After 80.000 lines, I expect a break even point. But thats way too much for me to test.

I suggest you try moving over to the combined mode, that's the best tested version with most of the features.

Something else did you take a look at the translation page?

I made some changes, in some of the largest arrays. They are now dynamically created.
But that involved hundreds of changes from pointer to pointer to pointer.  
Hopefully that doesn't break things.

I think that did enough:

110.000 V 0.37
26.000 V 0.38 Filtering all.
34.000 V 0.38 Filtering on waiting to run off.

Open 3 computers with 6468 Tasks. All in combined mode.

So an overall decrease in memory use of more than 2/3, I think that's nice.
I think the memory use is in the acceptable range now.

With just 3 defined computers (one of them was never online), my BT already consumes (since the launch, and will consume) 280 MB from pagefile (and after clicking around on my 12+3 tasks and a couple of projects for a few seconds long, needs 230 MB RAM). The largest (clients-related I believe) memory blocks were enlarged to 68.7 and 13.8 MB.

I can not imagine someone with a decent farm (20-30 hosts) to try to define them all, not to mention connect. I'm assuming an 85 MB per-host memory requirement (+ some additional 25 MB), which could limit the use to maybe 25 hosts (a 2 GB per-process limit) on a usual (pre-SP3?) WinXP process? (Nore, these 4+ GB memory are available just to 64bit Windows processes. But still, these are loads of locked (and wasted?) memory!)

Maybe you could at least try to postpone the per-client memory allocation until a particular client is successfully communicated? At the time I've been using 5 clients (but not all online and accessible at a moment), I could be able to regularly restart my client manager on my travelling notebook (to lower the memory consumption from a half gig ), but not willing to regularly (de)register them

When you have 20 computers attached you will hardly need more memory than with 2 computers. You will certainly not reach a memory limit.
64 bit Windows uses a lot more, but on those systems you need to install a lot more memory anyway, it's the 64 bit way to consume more memory.
But it's on my mind, I know how to reduce it, but as I'm planning a vacation, I don't want to do any daring things.
Another point is that memory gets cheaper and cheaper bit wise.
