Post by: runetbj on July 14, 2016, 03:46:19 am
I am trying to do a little translation of BoincTask, but whenever i try to use the chars , i get something like : = å and so on.

(have set the charset to Windows 1252 and codepage to 0)

I added some text to: http://efmer.com/forum/index.php?topic=194 (http://efmer.com/forum/index.php?topic=194)
Setting the correct codepage in Windows is important, using a plain text editor like Notepad++ is another.

I am using Notepad++ as my text editor for the translation.

In BoincTasks i have the following entry in the log:
Quote
15 juli 2016 - 14:18:14 Language ---- User: 1044 (NOR), System: 1044 (NOR), Selected: 0 () Used: 1044 (NOR)

In my translation i have set the following charset:
Code: [Select]
<GroupCodePage>
<Page> 0 </>
<CharSet> windows-1252 </>
</GroupCodePage>

When i try to use the char With hex code 0x00E5  (Dec 229)  i should get the letter (shown as in NP++). In BoincTasks this letter is shown as two letters: å. According to the Windows-1252 charsets, the char 0x00E5 should be ""

Also tried to change Charset to Windows-1250 and 1254 without any change in the shown chars.

In Windows you can choose between 2 codepages
Bokml and Nynorsk
I want to replicate your machine can you check what your computer is using as default.
Control panel -> Region (Globe and clock) -> Last tab Administrative -> next to the (probably second) button Current language for non-Unicode programs.

My computer are running With Norwegian bokml for non-Unicode programs.

I've tried some of the swedish letters like and that one shows up just fine.

The Norwegian letters and shows up as followed by another char.

The Norwegian letters and shows up as followed by another char.
In Notepad++ Set Encoding to ANSI. Or choose convert to ANSI.
