Title: AMD card testing

Add AMD/ATI graphic card support.
I have a card but for now I don't get it working, will try another machine.
Did that, had  ??? as complete system crash, downloaded the latest version same problem. Looks as if a 32 bit driver is installed on a 64 bit system. >:(
In a couple of days I try another computer... :-\

That's the one I downloaded. But there was another GPU Card in the system from NVidia, I don't know if that works.
I will made a test version to check out if we can read your card. http://www.efmer.eu/download/boinc/test/TThrottle_1_6_2_3.zip (http://www.efmer.eu/download/boinc/test/TThrottle_1_6_2_3.zip)

Hi Fred,
here is the log for x86 in laptop one ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 (little old)
AMD ATI:

In next thread I'll send you the x64 in a newer ATI.

That's the one I downloaded. But there was another GPU Card in the system from NVidia, I don't know if that works.

I've seen a lot of problems in my machines and another machines with
the graphic card if it's exchanged from ATI to NVidia or viceversa (most
of the times when exchanging from NVidia to ATI, that the NVidia left a
lot of shit in the O.S.) and the previous drivers are not completely
removed from the system before setup the new GPU.

something very strange when sometimes there is no problem for exchanging
the whole MOBO, memory and Processor in a PC and the computer starts
normally or only with an initial crash but recovered in the 2nd boot and solved
with the install of the new MOBO drivers, look like that the graphic cards are
more suspicious.

Good Luck, Carmelo.  :D

You can only add links to pictures. Otherwise my board space is very soon..... gone. ;D

This one checks if the temperature is valid.

What I expected the first one does not report the temperature to the driver. Maybe because there is not separate fan for the GPU.
The second one reports ok.
I will integrate the AMD readings into the program, so it will work exactly like the NVidia one.

The only thing that is very strange... the atiadlxx.dll should be on the 32 bit system and atiadlxy.dll should be on the 64 bit system.
But they both seem to use the atiadlxx.dll (32 bit version).
Can you check both files. On which system they are.

atiadlxy.dll in x64 system is located in C:\windows\syswow64

Hi Fred,

I'm diving in internet about monitoring Temperature in Laptops' GPUs (NVidia & ATI/AMD)
and it looks like that at least there is no sensor for the "Old" GPUs, and that AMD/ATI &
NVidia are doing new hardware with this kind of sensors for "new" GPUs, but still I don't
know which are the supported models that come with it.

Hello Fred,

here is my data:

AMD ATI:
Library not found

I did not yet make this machine new. Maybe the error is in my machine. Will start Backup today. I did not copy this test Version into the TThrottle folder. Is it required or not?

It can run anywhere... Try a manual search for the dll's if they are anywhere on the system.
But they should be part of the regular AMD/ATI installation.

Maybe even more changes in the NVidia part, this one supports 2 GPU systems. ;D

Ok I can work with that.
I'm working on something else now my http://www.efmer.eu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=30 (http://www.efmer.eu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=30) wallpaper changer, because I finally found a way to display the comment text of a jpeg picture.
Looks simple but it is not. So I can finally put a label to my 5000+ photo collection I use as wallpaper, to much to remember them all.... Most but not all.
That's also where the idea of the floating window came from.... ;D It's my most downloaded program.
