Questions / right click function
June 22, 2013, 04:59:59 AM
the right click function for 1.49 has dissappeared under the  projects tab, other tabs (computers, tasks, transfers, messages, history, notices) work normal.   At a complete loss as to why, have resorted to switching between boinc manager and Boinctasks. to enable projects  ?????????

Wish List / experiment???
October 24, 2012, 04:38:03 AM
Hey, fred long time.
I was wondering i if would be possible to have a column, smack bang in between time left and deadline, that showed as ratio.
I always look at those to the most and go, ok, 1 day and a bit left, with 4 and a bit days to deadline and think, that's about a .25.
Then look at other projects with 2 days 4 hours 6 minutes 6 seconds with 17 days 13 hours 39 minutes and 49 seconds deadline, and think, ok yep whatever. Sometimes i try with a calculator and give up.  Other times i see tasks running as high priority and wonder and what ratio would be for the boinc client to schedule and process bump (.70, .80 .90).  Then there are tasks that a 1 day left with 19 hours deadline, would that be a round 1.1 ratio.   Either way it's up to you, i am just curious.

Cheers

Questions / rule creation ???
June 15, 2011, 01:21:05 PM
i like to crunch mostly be pushing "science" from the bottom up (give projects that i have the lowest value in) taking into account cpu projects vs gpu projects. I was wondering if it is even possible to create a rule that looks at my credit for each of the projects, finds the lowest and allows new work for that one. i would probably need have to be able to give a number value to work above or below for credit. example i am currently pushing only Einstein with gpu as it was the lowest of the gpu crunching. While pushing CAS and Enigma with cpu, as they are the lowest and have work available goldbachs is crunching nothing but uppcase, and is suspended while quantum is offline. so the low value would be 0 while the high value would be around 4000-5000. If it is possible (in theory) then i will try to make one myself, if it's not then......... I will just have to keep manually swapping projects by hand.
Cheers

Questions / Re: is this normal
January 07, 2011, 02:48:31 PM
no joy with that link. the regedit din't work,
made sure i had admin rights and ran as admin, and searched 3 times to make sure all entries were gone. but every time i reboot the entries were back in place.  i think that either smart doctor or gamerOSD are writing the values back into reg.????????

The CPU temp is actually measured from a sensor embeded in motherboard socket area below the processor. Core temp is measured from a sensor embeded in the processor die itself. Core temps are the critcal ones. CPU temps are only important when you don't have access to core temps for some reason (like when cores are "unlocked") or when there is reason to suspect that the core temp sensors are calibrated poorly. the discrepancy between CPU temps and core temps. They usually vary from one another for a number of reasons but usually the variance is not more than 10 degrees
