Using this version with boinc 7.4.42 Calculation of progress/min % is way apart.
Look here http://efmer.com/b/boinctasks_settings#view If you don't like it you can remove the check at "Adjust time to BOINC client run time"

BOINC Settings -> Network -> Network usage allowed or on a daily basis ->  Day-of-Week-Override
The times set are the allowed intervals.

00:00 - 07:00 Allow from midnight to 7 in the morning.
I am aware of this but I am looking for smaller time slices multiple number of times per day/24hrs. I am crunching for WCG gpu tasks for HCC. The maximum tasks in process limit is 100 which lasts less than 3 hours on my system. So,every three hour the completed tasks has to be reported to get new tasks.
1. Either I have to keep network open then it keeps uploading tasks every 3 mins and reporting and requesting new tasks.
2.If I consider server load etc. in view I have to baby sit to open network for 10 minutes every 2+ hours . Similar situation is in case of Milkyway@home gpu tasks where limit is 40wus which last around 1 hour in total.
3. Since I have seen such scheduler in many programs like utorrent, perfectdisk etc so I thought it will be a good idea to include with boinc tasks, but as I am not a programmer you may be a better person to decide on feasability etc.   ;D

Wish List / Network Communications
October 21, 2012, 10:29:06 PM
I wish if we can have something like scheduler in utorrent to allow or not network communications for boinc client. This will help to micrmanage network communication and to control upload and reporting of tasks at the desired times only. ;D

Recently I have to reinstall OS and observed that I have to manualy back up and restore settings, rules, history etc. Shall appreciate if an option can be there to point towards folder containing them like data folder for boinc client etc. Many people use boinc data folder on location other than OS drive. ;D
I will add a text to the check, like:  "Override default (xml) Folder: C:\Users\fred\AppData\Roaming\eFMer\BoincTasks"
Has it been implemented yet...?

Some examples

Examples:

A rule Status > 3,4 Time 10:00 is active when there are 4 tasks in the error status in the last 10 minutes.
A rule Status = 5,0 Time 60:00 is active when there where no completed tasks the last 60 minutes.

Status codes:

3 Computation error
4 Uploading
5 Ready
6 Aborted

FAQ / Re: Rules

If you want to define rules based on the name of an executable program, such as a specific BOINC task, Process Lasso from Bitsum Technologies lets you do that, including defining disallowed processes. I use Process Lasso to assign CPU affinities and priorities to my BOINC tasks, but you might try disallowing the processes (tasks) that you don't want to run. Process Lasso won't stop the BOINC task from being downloaded, but it will stop a task if it matches the rule you create. Rules can include the * wild card, so one rule can be set up that applies to a range of process names. Process Lasso is free for home and educational users at http://www.bitsum.com/

I will like to clarify that Process Lasso is not free as many of its fatures get disabled after some time. This is very clear on their product page.
http://bitsum.com/prolasso_purchase.php
Also I will like to submitt that the wall clock rule is not working for task but is working for Project i.e.Resume or suspend project but not task.

Oh yeah!
I can use console or *.bat files but...
I like to use BoincTasks so if you will add this feature in one of the next version(s) of BT I'll be glad... ;)
At the moment you can suspend projects on a wall-clock time.
I will add Snooze as en Rule event. This will disable BOINC until the rule is no longer valid.
Shall appreciate if a kind of scheduler be introduced for network connections also as available in many programs like u torrent, perfect disk etc.

Spam machines sometimes can't respond to the email, they expect instant creation. The simple ones that is.
I added 3 simple question that anyone can answer, without thinking, but the machine can't. :o
Like this one: Forum starts with the letter? (hint F).
This changed things from almost 100 a day to close to zero.
Good. But I am yet to understand how come humans are so intelligent than machines. This move is really appreciable. :D
A human would read the question and think about an answer, then type it in.
A (spam) machine might not expect any question in the account creation form - its programmer would have to think about it, perhaps to see it to be aware, then re-program the machine with possible ways how fred's questions might look like and where to find a possible answer in it. (That's the first approximation.) After thirteen itarations between fred and the spam machine author, he might give some more thorough "artificial intelligence" a try... but I suppose it would not be worth when trying to spam eFMer forums  ::)

Thanks for your scientific and reasonable prompt response. That is why humans have  control over machines. ;D

What about people on vacation? Isn't a week rather severe and perhaps adding more work for you than neccessary?
It's when you create the account to the time you click on the email link.
Normally this is within a few minutes.

Wish List / Filters for Projects Tab
October 03, 2011, 04:53:06 AM
I was just wondering why we cannot have filters for projects tab also based on account,Computer,Project,Status,Venue etc. This will make life a more easier and will be less intensive on resources when using many computers or projects etc.
