I finally found the reason and solution fred.
The column "Name" on the task view contains the hint to the collapsed view of tasks below.
As I was not interested in the WU Name, I unchecked it on "View - Hide or change column order".
This caused the indicator not being visible to me!

I found out about it while playing around with the Windows release installed under WINE.

Hell of a shit - who could ever have expected that :-)

Anyway, thx a lot for your support !!!

Cheers
Chris

It seems to be independent of the monitored computer.
Whatever amount of "buffer" I run, only one of those "Ready to start" tasks is shown.
You see them getting downloaded, then in an eye flash they disappear.
The BOINC Manager itself displays them correctly.
Are they kind of "grouped" into one single line maybe?

Hi fred,

THX for your reply.
Please find my answers below.
(btw. This tool is really great!)

Cheers

- Extra -> Show check CPU, GPU and non Cpu extensive.
  -----> All checked

- The ready to report are in one filtered line, containing a number of tasks.
-----> Do you refer to the status line regarding the number of tasks?

- Check show -> Error log if there are any system errors.

Hello All,

I wonder if I am doing wrong but I can't figure out where that might be ....
It seems that BoincTasks JS sometimes does not show all Tasks on a machine.
E.g. the status line reports 93 Tasks but only 5 of them are displayed (all missing ones are "Ready To Start").
Also sometimes the amount of "Ready To Report" is not matching the numbers in the status line.
Any idea how to fix that?

Thank you!
Cheers
Chris

You are so right Fred!
After having enabled the history it went well.

Many thanks for your quick response and good work.

Hi Fred,

I may be doing something wrong but it seems the WUs still won't suspend although I selected the command from the tasks context menu.
Also not sure if I remember it correctly but the checkpoint
  • is also not changing - always set to "0".
It would be very great if you could doublecheck that for me.

    Many thanks in advance Fred!

Well, yes, that's true.

But on the other hand, "Ready to start" tasks can be suspended without a loss and the project will not load any additional tasks in that case.

So we would be back just dealing with the running tasks.

Wish List / Suspend WU after next checkpoint
September 08, 2014, 10:19:46 AM
Some projects obviously have checkpoints that don't follow your boinc configuration (Write to disk every ..... seconds).
WCG's MCM is such an example; it writes to disk every 10 minutes.
In order to avoid a loss of donated computing power I often just sit there, waiting for a checkpoint to get reached before suspending tasks prior to shutting down my computer (e. g. at night times).

It would be very useful to get a tool on hand which at least frees me of the sit and wait  ;D

Many thanks.
Cheers
Chris
