Questions / Re: New Lunix operator
May 09, 2019, 11:50:06 PM
Update:  the Linux version contains both the Lunix PC and the Windows PC tasks.
However, the Windows PC version contains only the Windows PC tasks.  The Linux PC tasks are not being brought over.

If the Windows machine doesn't see the Linux Machine:

2. are there other files I need to check the countenance of?  I'll answer any questions that will help you help me.

Questions / Re: BoincTasks in Linux Mint

Quote1) You said "I created" where did you create it.
I created a file from the registry data and posted it into this thread.

Quote2) Is  [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eFMer\BoincTasks] on the linux machine?
Yes, via the WINE function.  From the Terminal, I entered regedit
From regedit, I when to the location you called for BoincTasks
By right clicking on the BoincTasks, I accessed the Export ... and placed the file on my Desktop for easy access.
That is where I got the data from that I entered into the post.  I couldn't find a way to upload the file itself.
It didn't occur to me to search for other entries for this kind of data.
I just checked and there is a second listing for BoincTasks.
I have no way of knowing if the two listings are identical or even if they are meant to be identical.
I was working with HEY_CURRENT_USER.  The second listing is under HKEY_USERS.
I hope you are understand what I am typing, because I am starting to confuse myself.

Quote3) Importing means reading back the info you stored by using export.
Import is in File->Import.  Export is in right click on the column item and select export.
FYI - The first item on the Menu reads Registry, not File. (Linux)
That, I think, had me confused.

So you want me to read back in (Import) the data created from Exporting the data.  Yes?
So, after exporting the data from the BoincTasks point, I should click on the Menu item Registry and Import Registry file... that was just saved to the Desktop.
Correct?

I think, I need a drink.   ;)

The registry printout was from the Registry in the PC.
QuoteYou should only import the column items.
I do not understand what importing the column items means.
Please specify.  Remember, I'm not as smart as you guys.

Thanks

I followed your regedit instructions as best as I could.  I created a HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eFMer\BoincTasks] file./
The following is the the data contained in that part to the registry...

Quote
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eFMer\BoincTasks]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eFMer\BoincTasks\column]
"computer_j"=dword:000000c9
"projects_a"=dword:000000b9
"projects_j"=dword:00000079
"task_status_sort"=""
"tasks_b"=dword:00000150
"tasks_c"=dword:00000143
"tasks_d"=dword:00000095
"tasks_e"=dword:0000005a
"tasks_h"=dword:000000aa
"tasks_i"=dword:0000009e
"tasks_j"=dword:0000007b
"tasks_m"=dword:00000064

Where do we go from here?  I tried your moving of the column header, then restart the program.
The result was the column did not follow the header, but the header returned to its initials position.

Questions / BoincTasks in Linux Mint
April 02, 2014, 02:44:38 AM
I installed into Linux Mint OK.  In trying to move the columns under Tasks the column headings move, but the column stays put.
Is this an oops or do I have to set an option in the program?

Thanks

I'm new to Linux, but I'm trying to install BoincTasks.  I have installed Boinc Manager successfully.
I have installed Wine.  The install of BoincTasks seem to start, I get two query windows, then it just goes away.
No evidence of the Program having been installed.

What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?

Thanks

EDIT: I had to reinstall LinuxMint and in the new install BoincTasks installed.
Go figure.

Wish List / Re: Moving WU to different computers

I know it's possible via FTP.  Is this a BOINC issue?

Wish List / Moving WU to different computers
July 09, 2013, 11:37:02 PM
I know this belongs in the Wish List.  I just hope it doesn't belong in the drop dead list.

Today I had a computer running some Yoyo WUs when I noticed WCG downloading a Beta WU.  I put the active Yoyo WUs into Suspense mode to allow the WCG Beta WUs to start downloading/running.

Since I am new to Beta testing, I don't know how long the Beta test will go on.  However, an idea came to me.  What if I could relocate a WU from one computer to another.  Assume the Beta testing lasts for a week.  The deadline will undoubtedly expire on the Suspended Yoyo WUs.  Since all my computers are networked together and BoincTasks is managing all the computers BOINC work, is it possible to move suspended WUs from one computer to another?  That would elevate the deadline issue completely.

Questions / Re: Disk space query
June 06, 2013, 09:28:57 AM
I figured it out.  When I removed a bad 4GB RAM strip due to BSOD issues, I needed to provide additional HDD space to BOINC to compensate until I can get a replacement RAM strip.

Questions / [Resolved] Disk space query
June 05, 2013, 11:12:29 PM

What do I need to modify to provide this needed disk space.  I've never seen this kind of message before.
The BOINC parameters are at the default settings as for as I know.

Thanks

Questions / Status: Missed
May 28, 2013, 07:03:31 AM
I've noticed under the History tab some WUs with the Status of Missed.
What does this mean and what can I do about it?
