Questions / Re: Throttle 1 GPU at a time

This should work: http://www.efmer.eu/forum_tt/index.php?topic=720.0

You may want to remove:
<GPU_SETUP>
  <Device_position>x;x;x;x</Device_position>  <-- remove this line
</GPU_SETUP>
And restart TThrottle.
This may cause the problem.
Doing as stated in the FAQ doesn't work, or my GPU's have the same device number.
Removing the device position line doesn't work either.

I solved the ATI temperature problem. The card needed an active/enabled screen (in the driver).

Below is a copy of the Tthrottle log window:

  • TThrottle.xml found.

The <Devices> tag/line is nowhere to be found, except that it is mentioned in your faq. Maybe time to rewrite that piece of the faq.
GPU:1 1 PID:5700 (5) -> Nvidia GPU 1;
GPU:1 0 PID:6644 (5) -> Nvidia GPU 0;
GPU:1 0 PID:6860 (4) -> ATI GPU 0 running the 1st of 2 instances/wu's of MilkyWay;
GPU:1 0 PID:3780 (4) -> ATI GPU 0 running the 2nd of 2 instances/wu's of MilkyWay.

How can I throttle my GPU's independently? How can I get the device number?

Anthony.

It doesn't work without the line either, I've put the line in because of the faq. It doesn't work eitherway.

Questions / Re: Throttle 1 GPU at a time
March 09, 2012, 11:36:33 PM
I want Tthrottle being able to read the temp on my 3rd GPU card (ATI HD6950). And I want to Tthrottle to throttle per/GPU, not throttle all 3 my GPU's because 1 GPU reaches the limit.

My system throttles all 3 GPU's based on the single hottest Nvidia GPU (as it can't read the ATI's temp).

Questions / Throttle 1 GPU at a time

Can TThrottle throttle 1 GPU at a time? The way described in the FAQ doesn't seen to work.

The ATI is detected by TThrottle it just doesn't read the temperatures.

FAQ / Re: Independent GPU Throttling
March 07, 2012, 05:18:38 PM
This doesn't seem to work anymore. Or maybe it's just my system with 2 Nvidia's GTX-560TI-448's (in SLI in 1st and 2nd slot) and an ATI/AMD HD6950 (3rd slot).

Questions / Re: No ATI temperature/detection

I have an ASRock Extreme4 Gen3 motherboard. I can't put my AMD in the first slot (it was in the 1st in my other system) because then the SLI connector for my 2 GTX-560TI-448's won't fit.

Questions / No ATI temperature/detection
March 05, 2012, 07:07:23 PM
My system has 2 Nvidia's and an ATI HD6950. My ATI is in my 3rd PCIe slot and isn't detected by TThrottle 5.10 or 5.50beta. I have question marks in BoincTasks and in TThrottle it only sees 2 GPU's, my Nvidia's I presume.

When the ATI/AMD card was in my other system as 1st GPU, with a Nvidia as 2nd GPU there were no problems.

Wish List / Re: Adding GPU Column
January 30, 2012, 12:45:43 AM
I noticed it this afternoon but I went back to my 2 client setup, because I didn't want to install the 7.x alpha version of BOINC that has the option I need.

Thanks anyway for replying.

Wish List / Adding GPU Column
January 28, 2012, 05:45:07 PM
How about adding a GPU column for those who run multiple GPU's (like me)? This way we can see which GPU-task runs on which GPU.

It was running and minimized to the system tray. If BT wasn't running then it wouldn't happpen. But besides all the problems BT is always running because I think it's a better manager than Boinc Manager.
But I solved the remote control keys problem ;D.
I've put a shortcut key in the BT Hotkey box (CTRL+ALT+B), and now it won't react on the 3 buttons from my remote.

My AntiVirus-Firewall program (from F-Secure) that I got from my internet provider Telfort is also a problem with BT. I think that one is preventing BT from starting the Boinc client. And I can't make a rule in that program for BT. If BT is starting up just before that program then the boinc client will start too. Otherwise if the AV-program start sooner then it think BT wants to change one or more processes and blocks it, so I'll have to turn the DeepGuard option off or find out where it stores the list of programs so that I can add BT to it.
The latter would be better otherwise my system is less secure. But for now the option goes off until I find that list of programs so I can add BT to it. Hopefully it's a registry key or a file that is readable (or easy to figure out).

 :o Strange, cause it also happenend before I re-installed Windows 7.

It shows none, but the BT window will open when I press one of those three buttons.

I have re-installed Windows 7 and BT starts my main boinc client  :D. I've also noticed that BoincManager can stop my second boinc client (if it's run from the batch file; don't know if it can do it with a direct shortcut like I used before instead of the batch file).

A new problem has come. Before and after the re-install of windows, I noticed that when I press some keys on the remote control (Rec TV; Guide; Live TV) BT's main window opens  ??? and it's very annoying when I'm busy with Media Center  ::).
