Another thing is that the whole debt thing should be gone in one of the newer version.

Yeah, I can't wait to see how the new Scheduler is going to work ::)

Others who want to comment on this.
Don't care too much where the debts column is, but please leave the temp column in Tasks.

I'm with Beyond on this one: please leave Temp (and Throttle!) where they are.

The scheduling seems to be querky.

idahofisherman,

Quirky is an understatement--but it's also by design.  For information on how task scheduling actually works, I suggest you read this BOINC FAQ article and the BOINC WIKI detailed description.  You'll see there's a lot more going on than just changing every 60 minutes.  And not all projects' types of work units play well together under BOINC's Scheduling Policy.  But if you still think something is broken, the BOINC message board is the appropriate place to post your concerns ;)

Best wishes for the new year.

Wish List / Notices options
December 25, 2010, 06:50:16 PM
I call this a low priority feature request rather than a bug:

On Settings>Notices if Hide notice after & Show alert every are deselected, the data entry textboxes disappear.  When the options are selected again, the numbers have returned to default values (60 days & 30 minutes).  Request instead that the textboxes remain visible/grayed out, and retain the values entered.  (Two more keys for the Registry? :) )

Questions / Re: New tabs in Settings dialog?

Intentionally left blank.

One of those logical paradoxes I always enjoyed in technical manuals...of course a placeholder page with
Quote
Intentionally left blank
printed on it isn't really blank at all :D

Cool 8)  But to avoid questions from new users you may want to put some "boilerplate" statement on those tabs instead of just leaving them blank ;)

Try moving all bars around a bit an place them on the right location again.
I can't reproduce it.

I already tried that before I reported it originally.  Note that the symptom only occurs if the Graphic toolbar is placed third (from the left).  If the order is changed to e.g., Selection|Graphic|Operation everything stays in place.  (Which of course is a workaround for the problem ;D)

Behavior is the same in v0.96.  I also installed 0.96 on 2 remote machines with same results.

An option to temporarily remove the filter for a specific plan class may be simpler.

That would work fine for me :)

Wish List / Filter parameters
December 24, 2010, 08:51:07 AM
It would be helpful to have separate filter options for Ready to start-CPU and Ready to start-GPU, based on plan class.  I often want to expand the population of one type without looking at the others.

Prioritize however you see fit ;)

There seems to be a problem 095 ignoring the application switch parameter which I have set at 60  minutes.  Notice the timing on the message queue between the two applications.

I believe that would be nothing to do with BoincTasks...a problem with application switching would have to be in the BOINC client itself.  Also please note that v0.95 has been withdrawn; you should revert to 0.94 ;)

Best wishes.

Questions / New tabs in Settings dialog?
December 23, 2010, 10:19:28 PM
Not reported as a bug and yes I know the version is DOA, but:

In v0.95 Settings dialog I notice 2 new tabs "Messages" & "Transfers" that are both blank.  I didn't see them mentioned in the version description.  Are they broken, or reserved for future implementation?

I didn't mention this earlier because the History issue took precedence.

I reverted to V 0.94 as the latest Beta version.
Tomorrow will tell what went wrong with the history, it seems to be erased at startup. As no changes where made in this part...
So V 0.96 will probably be out soon with a fix.

Is this possibly something to do with
QuoteChanged: History, Transfers, Messages: Allow column header dragging.
???

Just a thought :-\

Perhaps related to glenaxl's 0.93 issue:

Beginning with the Selection bar, Operation toolbar & "new" Graphic toolbar all on a single line, in that order, perform a normal shutdown (Exit) of BT.  On restarting, the Graphic toolbar has moved to a new line :(

Not the end of the world, but mildly annoying.
The graphic toolbar is larger as it was, so it may give a problem in some cases. But that should only be once.

I tried it multiple times (before reverting to 0.94) and Graphic dropped down every time after shutdown/restart.  Even with all 3 toolbars on the same line, there is still approx. 7 cm of "empty" space on the line (on my 16:9 display) with BT in fullscreen.  That is unless there is an invisible barrier on this line that the longer toolbar is crossing.

I know I tested this several times in v0.93, trying to reproduce glenaxl's symptom, both using polite shutdown and killing the .exe, and couldn't make any toolbar jump to a new line.

Anyway as I said, not the end of the world ;)

After update to 0.95, all previous History entries were erased.  Newly completed tasks are displayed correctly.  Was this behavior expected ???

It appears that new History entries are also being erased after a normal shutdown/restart.  This would make 0.95 Dead On Arrival.
