Is it possible to get the combine filter to not group seti@home & seti@home beta tasks together?  Or are we stuck as long as both projects are using the same application & rev. number?

It's so awesome to find an active project after trying BoincView and getting excited only to realize it's development has stopped. After using BoincTasks for a day I have few wishes that'll make it a perfect tool for me use. Some of these I miss after trying BoincView. Here goes:

1. Better handling for non-CPU intensive projects like FreeHAL (no, it doesn't use GPU either). Now the CPU % and Elapsed Time seem totally off (jumping between 0.xx% and ~80%) and they keep triggering the Warning color due to the default CPU rule. (Yes, I already disabled the warning by deleting the rule.) These should be marked as non-CPU intensive (on Use column?) and excluded somehow from the low CPU warnings (rather warn when they ARE using much CPU).
2. Quick fix for the numerous non-CPU intensive tasks would be to allow exclude (filter out) one or more projects from the lists (especially Tasks). This also helps with the clutter since these add lots of running jobs..
3. I miss the current speed (for example GFlops per second) display of the running tasks that BoincView had. This allowed me to compare effectiveness of different computers running same project. Then I could decide if I should prefer running some project on some specific computer and save the other computer running something else.
4. Sorting with Use column on the Tasks tab doesn't seem to work. Even if I set it up as primary sort criteria it doesn't list blank lines as a group but intermingles them with GPU tasks. Yes, I tried this to have GPU and CPU tasks listed separately. Also, same problem seems to prevent me to sort Projects tab first with Project and then Computer.
5. I have two computers that seems to corrupt their stored password every time BoincTasks is closed and started again. Looking at the XML file there doesn't seem to anything strange there but still the passwords won't survive intact.
6. Projects list in Statistics graphics window seems to gather lots of blank entries that multiply every time it's refreshed.
7. I really like the idea of adding Computers as a "normal tab" that's on the task list. After that's done it can be enhanced to add measured speed of host and other details like BoincView has in it's Hosts tab.
8. Some projects have blank name in the Projects tab. These are probably ones that haven't been able to contact project servers to fetch their official name. BoincTasks should detect this condition and switch to project URL or some other identification string for these.. This is how Boinc Manager handles these projects.

I didn't/don't want to make a complete copy of another program.

1) If FreeHAL is reporting the CPU use correctly it should not generate a warning. The warning is set up for tasks that use the full (1) Cpu. But I put in the to test list.
2) The warning can be tailored to a specific CPU use range like 0.1 to 0.4.
3) Hmm almost impossible to do correctly, you could make a guess , but I put it on the list to look into.
4) Ok on the list.
5) Strange, probably the encryption that has problems with some specific character or combination. If you can give me a password that produces these problems.
6) ?? Tell me more.
7) ??
Can you give me an example or a screenshot. It could be an newer or older BOINC version that causes these problems. The name is the URL name of the project.

I'm sure this is a standard feature of whatever tool you're using to build the tables, but could you add an option to turn off the alternating-row gray stripes?  They're helpful in a one-color table as in BOINC Manager.  But they just add to the confusion in the Task table where there are so many possible states and you're trying to use colors & shades to sort out which row is in what state

I will put it in the list: An option to remove the alternating color stripes. Easy as it is is just skipping part of the program that adds these stripes.

It is there somewhere, but I know these things mostly involve a bit more.
A couple of .... 100 lines of code will be more like it, what I have seen so far.
Nothing too difficult but something to do someday.

When accessing an already open Graph window, using either Graph tab / Larger graph button or toolbar icon's Graphs menu item, if the Graph window is underneath other windows or minimized, it will stay so. The user will notice something went wrong, have to take attention, look for the Graph window's icon and elevate/restore it.

Let's raise the graph window in such situation automatically.

-(CHANGED) Gadget window, the default time is now 1 second, but it stays there anyway, as long as the cursor is over the icon.
-(FIXED) The new CPU % mode did not work properly in the non combined mode.
-(FIXED) When a project or projects where suspended, by the project or user, the tasks still showed running/running color.
-(FIXED) Removed the suspended message when tasks where ready to report.
-(FIXED) Autostart with, in the Extra menu was not translated.
-(FIXED) History view: A task sometimes stays in： Updating, please wait. Do a state refresh immediately to resolve the name, because next time the task may be gone.
-(FIXED) Redraw the icon after an Windows explorer.exe/desktop/file explorer crash.
-(FIXED) History view: Did not remove history of unconnected computers in the set time period.

How are things going with the French translation?

Next final done: BoincTasks_DEU.btlang_v0.40_v0.1.

Diff to original: BoincTasks_v0.40_german.lang_v0.1.html.

Some text was out of space and wrapped. We fixed that with a shorted translation (specially the chapter BOINC Preferences). Only one passage have a space problem: BoincTasks_SpaceProb.png or we can delete " von BoincTasks".

Will make some more room in the dialog, I already did by aligning the text to the right, but there should be room for more. English is a bit shorter.
I noticed the untranslated menu entry "Auto startup with", that's corrected.

In the projects view, the Tasks column holds the total number of task per project/computer.

Is the column blank check if the history is enabled. This feature uses parts of the history logging, so history must be switched on.

Extra -> BoincTasks settings -> History -> "Enable history logging".

after a crash of the explorer the icons for TThrottle and BoincTasks are not restored in the task bar.

Solved in V 0.41, messy, but it works.
Testing: Use the task manager and delete the process explorer.exe. Using File -> Run (Task Manager) start explorer.exe. Beware of the risks.

A serious issue with "Start BOINC Client (localhost)" - my clients are running as a service. But BT has started it as it's child process, under my username and access rights instead of those of boinc_master. Afterwards, the applications started to be repeatedly launched and were dying immediately...
I suspect that after some hardcoded number of unsuccessful attempts (IIRC 200 or so) to launch an application, the client will discard the failing task data and download another one.

BT should probably distinguish between the "Protected app execution" (a.k.a "service") and "not protected" (the plain old way, IIRC (still) necesary for GPGPU?) installation types. And use "net start boinc" equivalent in the first case.

Most programs are going over the the user side. BOINC itself doesn't install as a service anymore for a long time. Even the video driver moved over.
And BoincTasks starts the BOINC client locally but only when it's not running and only once. It's done the same way BOINC Manager does it.
But I put in a note in the list to check for service installations.

Windows.... That's actually a pretty serious crash of the explorer.exe and that's about everything on the desktop and the file explorer and a lot more.
I've seen this before and done some research, there should be a way to display the icon again.
A bit of dirty programming... Something for the next version.

Hi all,

why the history log is showing me results from one month ago and much more
of non connected clients??, when I have set-up as 1 day only.

these results were real and at the time I disconnected my computer at home
when I left for work.

Added to the Bug list. But only reported results will be removed.
