The runtime is there, due to other programs. 2005 and 2008. If the runtime which is used already integrated in the Mail prog, how can I help you to track down this problem? Obviously it is working for most testers at least. Otherwise there should have been more reports, right? Is there a possibility to turn on a debug mode where the program is going to save data about the crash?
You are the only one reporting this problem. But that doesn't mean there is something wrong.
But for now I have to wait for another report.

The detection maybe a driver problem....
I did remove the need for the runtime package in TThrottle and the Mail program. So it shouldn't be there in the program installation list. That is if no other program installed it.
But that doesn't mean there is no runtime, it embedded in the exe file.

Hello Fred,

I saw you thread over at SETI, so I installed your latest version. I get "Unable to write to xml file" when I try to enter an account key. Also when I connected to localhost and then close the program so that it save the computer I get that message.

When I hit the "Update" button, it tells me, it is unable to connect to the internet. The internet connection is no trouble. The program is not blocked by the Firewall.

Win7 64bit on my Laptop now. AMD Turion64 X2 with 3gig of RAM and ATI Radeon HD2600 (?mobility?)

Christoph
I will make the location where the XML is written user adjustable.... Maybe it is a Win7 thing and it uses an other default directory then XP and Vista.
Try opening the location C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Application Data\
Replace %user% with the current user name.
Even though it is an XP location you should be able to see it by copying the entire line at once.
But I will change this in V 19

The Update button is not working yet.....

Questions / Re: Unsuccessfully Trying to Use TThrottle

I've been having a serious heat problem with my laptop, so I just installed Tthrottle and tried to use it.  It ran and gave me the following message.

01:33:18 OpenService failed!  Error = 1060 (start driver)
Unable to start driver. (is the driver installed?)
01:33:18 ERROR: Driver NOT installed properly
 Alice
The driver should be properly installed first.
Make sure TTrottle is not running! and you are logged in as administrator.
Goto the map C:\Program Files\eFMer\TThrottle
Double click on (start) InstallDriver.exe
Choose remove driver and choose exit
Start InstallDriver.exe again and choose Install Driver.
This should install the driver properly. Exit the installer.
Now restart the computer, start TThrottle and send me the ENTIRE log not just parts, but from the beginning.
And be sure you have the right OS (WINDOWS) and the 32 or 64 bit version.

FAQ / What is BOINC-Tasks
August 25, 2009, 07:16:14 AM
I started this project when I got really annoyed with BOINC manager, not able to cope with the 1000+ WU. Frequent waiting messages, incredibly slow and lost connections.
And connecting to remote computers in the BOINC Manager, is not very sophisticated.

So my goal was to make something that works on my computers. And.... it is probably useful for others as well. So the project got out of hand and is taking up more time than anticipated.

First I started out with one window per computer, as this is the fastest approach and that works well.

As suggested by my earliest tester and great help Corsair, I started combining everything into one Window and that was a good idea. It gives a better view of all the connected computers. So this is why I ended up with basically two separate programs into one.

Wish List / Re: Moving average and CPU usage on graph
August 24, 2009, 11:04:48 AM
Quote from: Karl on August 24, 2009, 10:50:49 AM
When I view the scalable graphic window, my CPU temperature goes kind of up 1c down 1c up 1c down 1c and the graph is like this: \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Would it be possible to add a moving average to the temperature for each core, with the choice of a moving average over 1 minute / 5 minutes / 10 minutes for example?
Also, I can display the throttle percentage on the graph, but would it be possible to display the actual CPU usage on the graph for each core? Also a moving average for CPU usage.
The temperature is averaged out over a relative short period of time,  because you need to see the actual temperature.
Most processors don't do /\/\/\ in a short period of time, but over 5-10 seconds.
And mostly the core temperature is only 1C accurate at best.
Going to a long term average would give you a more smooth graph but actually gives you less info.

Giving the cpu usage per core would be way to intense for TThrottle it uses way too much processor time.
Programs like taskmanager can do that.

Added a combined mode.
All WU from several machines in one screen.
I suggest switching  the filter on to reduce the number of WU.

V 0.010

Made a filter option Extra -> Filter on -> ready to start.
This combines all WU that are ready to start.
Now resolves the application name completely, instead of only the version number.
Made some color changes for running projects.

As of version 1.6.71 the installation no longer includes the VS2005 runtime package (Redistributable).
Due to a lot of problems, I included the code in the actual exe.
The download and installation are now a lot faster.
This makes the code somewhat larger, but the actual footprint in memory should not be larger.

When you are completely sure that no other program is using the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable , you may remove it.

When exited from program the icon remains in the task bar and if double click on it you get this message:

An invalid argument has been encountered, but right click on icon "exit" and icon dissapear.

when dowloading new untis one message in the task window column "state" like: Status 1000:
I all forgot about that exit is also in the top menu ::), easy to fix in the next version.

If you see a status with a number, check the number and note what the text should be.
Because all of this is not documented it's just trail an error.
