Ah! I knew there'd be a simple solution to this one! Sorry I didn't see it!

Thanks!

You know that you can sort on the status column. Extra->BoincTasks Settings->Tasks and adjust the Status column sorting.

I will put it in the context menu - one mouse click away.

Better! Still shows Waiting to Run though... :-)

I'm sorry.

Yes, if I remove the WU Name column, then actions like abort task won't run.

It looks like you already answered this with "When you do so some functions like abort will no longer function, as they need to know the WU name." So if I remove the wu name column some WU functions won't run, which means there are columns that cannot be removed or else the WU functions will be compromised?

just trying to understand...

It cleans up the tasks display quite a bit. I'm currently displaying the tasks window with a sort on the Status column and a secondary sort on the Time Left column. The effect of this is all Ready To Start jobs are on top (listed first in the window) and the Waiting To Run jobs are at the bottom. In the middle are the active, running jobs.

This is adequate until I start playing with the filters / sorting, which then scrambles everything up again (i.e. makes harder to read).

How about a set of radio buttons under VIEW in the menu bar that allows checking Ready to Start, Running and Waiting to Run. If they're all checked you get the current 'everything display' . Unchecking removes that category of jobs from the display (with all unchecked giving a blank tasks window).

Is that possible?

I'm running V1.0 - I have noticed that if I don't mark the task name to display under settings/tasks, I have no control over them through the GUI (for instance, to abort a task). I can go through all the dialogs to perform the task on the WU, it just doesn't happen. Additionally, if I right click on the task in the GUI and choose properties, the dialog appears, but is blank. When I INCLUDE the WU name, it all seems to work ok.

Can anyone else verify this?
What do you mean by "INCLUDE the WU name". Remove the column from the Tasks display?
When you do so some functions like abort will no longer function, as they need to know the WU name.

Yes, the column (sorry for the delay in replying)

Could a non-running jobs filter be added to that list? (i.e. to only show running jobs)
Tell me more why or what you like to see.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I was just looking for a filter that would allow me to view only running tasks (no waiting or ready to start)  :)

uploaded crash file to the upload area, just when windows started and gives this message, also o.s. reported failure automatically to Microsoft too.

Where is the upload area? Experiencing many crashes on start. (Windows XP sp3 on an ATOM dual core processor)

Wish List / Sidebar Computer Selection enhancements
July 07, 2011, 12:59:55 PM
I have 2 separate networks in my house, joined by a wireless bridge. When I want to see how "the downstairs" is doing, I open the Sidebar Computer Selection (I don't normally have it displayed) and choose what systems I wish to see as a group (using ctl key to choose). This led me to an idea.

Could this feature be user configurable to allow systems to be placed in group folders and additionally displaying group totals (i.e a separate line in the Tasks at the top)?
