Just to counter the OP.

Personally, I think there is more cohesion with the new skin. Lines remain distinct but not 'different' if that makes any sense. I also think that the change from using black to grey for the outlines further enhances the cohesion.

As fred says, some will like it and some not.

I have seen situations like this for the past few versions of BT but didn't report it because I thought it was a windows issue.

I have always been able to 'fix it' by closing the process in Task Manager.

I am only processing one project but in that project there are different applications being run.
But this happens only with suspended tasks?
NO. I am talking about WUs with 'Ready to start' status.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.

i.e. dbl-clicking on a different type of WU on the same machine is being treated as if I had dbl-clicked on the same type of WU.
On one machine I have suspended several WUs of 3 different projects: Moo!, RNA and Yoyo.  Double clicking on one expands all 3.  Double clicking on any off the expanded WUs collapses them all, 3 projects worth.
I am only processing one project but in that project there are different applications being run.

I have just checked and behaviour is the same in BT 1.18

I don't know if this a bug or not, but here goes...

On each machine, I have two different types of WU, call them TypeA and TypeB, running and filter them so that in BT I can see

TypeA [9 Tasks], double click to expand
TypeB [6 Tasks], double click to expand

If I dbl-click on TypeA, the filter is removed and I now see 9 lines of info OK SO FAR
However, if I then dbl-click on TypeB line, instead of those tasks opening up to list the WUs in for that type, TypeA then goes back to being a filtered view. (My reason for wanting to do this is that I have found BT is now very good at helping me micromanage from time to time and sometimes I might want to suspend one particular WU type in order to process another which has a shorter deadline).

i.e. dbl-clicking on a different type of WU on the same machine is being treated as if I had dbl-clicked on the same type of WU.

My question is whether you intended BT dbl-clicking action was intended to do this or if it is a bug.

Agreed.

Another undocumented feature (although easy to spot) is the fact that it is now easier to 'un-filter' 'Ready to start' (if you have them filtered) and vice versa.

I only recently started to use the filter feature and the ability to switch by simply double-clicking makes micromanagement a few clicks easier. I like this a lot!!

Beta Testing / BT 1.16

Many thanks for fixing the 'right click in blank area of views'. In doing so, I see an undocumented feature:

- With a line already highlighted, right clicking in a blank area opens up the same menu that would be displayed if you had right clicked on that line.

NOTE: This behaviour is only seen if a line has been highlighted. Otherwise, right clicking on a blank space does nothing.

Thanks for the clarification. Looking forward to confirm that the RIGHT CLICK issue is fixed in the next version  ;)

Beta Testing / Re: BT 1.14 and 1.15

Somethings I have noted in recent betas (and continuing to 1.15):

  • RIGHT CLICK in a blank area of Projects or Tasks or Transfer screens causes program to Crash/Close and then reopen

  • Suspending a WU shows the WU as being suspended but shows its CPU% to remain at the level it was prior to suspding it, e.g. on a machine running four cores, it is possible to have 4 active tasks and one suspended all running at 100%. I would have expected the result to be 4 X 100% and 1 x 0%.

Having a machine report 500% in total for four active cores is confusing until you get used to it. Could this be changed in any way, or am I not understanding the report of a suspended core reporting 100% usage?

Questions / Re: TThrottle and HD 4890 [solved]
January 27, 2011, 03:07:25 AM
I only started to use TThrottle today and am glad to have found this thread. Now that I am running the program as Administrator, I can see that throttling is definetly occuring and core temps are immediately being regulated.

re the suggestion to create a link with Administrator privileges in Startup folder, I guess that enabling 'Run TThrottle at startup' from Preference tab will not be neccessary.

@fred, I don't recall having seen mention of this in the manual. Do you think that adding this info to the manual would be useful?

Thanks for giving the useful info, and thanks to Smokyr for asking the question ;)

Quote from: fred on November 10, 2010, 09:12:52 PMStrange, I will upload the file again. You can try the other one European or US site.
But I did one change, set it to a higher compression rate, maybe that's incompatible on some OS's. ???
Let me now if it works.

Thanks. Maybe my system needs a cache cleanout.

Anyway, I downloaded the file with FF and that one has no problem.

This is the first beta that I am unable to instal. All conditions the same as previous updates, but this installer returns:

setup_32_64_boinc_tasks_0_8_6.exe

The directory name is invalid

Questions / Re: allow_remote_gui_rpc

Mark, in | Show | Computers | check that the password has not become corrupted, and if so, try entering the correct password.

For some reason this happened to me in earlier versions with a machine running XP.

Thanks again, Fred. I can confirm that the issue is fixed in 0.51 :)

Glad to help in any way.

Here's the cap of Boinc Graphic with only ROBOTii selected. I forgot to post it first time around.
