Wish List / Re: New Rules to add

I would like to see an abort task variable.   Also it would be nice to compare time left to deadline time so that  wUs can be aborted if deadline is not going to be made.

If there is any other  info I can give you let me know.
1) Does the 90% go away when you
  • close (hide) BoincTasks?
            No.
    2) Are the Graphs: Statistics, Tasks Graphic, Data transfer graph working at that time?
            No.
    3) Do all tabs show normal.
Depends if you try to use them soon enough they all work, but later you  lose control of cursor.
    4) Disable "Connect to TThrottle" and see if it goes away.
             No difference.
    5) Disable "Enable history logging" for a short while to see if the 90% goes away and enable it again. This should not clear any history.
             No difference.
    6) Do you have "Make a backup of the history files" disabled (no check)?
              Yes.
    7) Disable any rules if you have them.
              No difference.
    8) Remove all checks in the Settings -> WWW tab.
              No difference.
    9) In the expert tab did you override the default xml folder.
              No.
    10) Did you set the Thread priority to something else than Normal?
             No.
The only observation I can make is that in the status line, it is displaying "updating x" where x  is a number incrementing by 1  until it reaches 122, then is goes thru "CLosing x".  If left running long enough the Boinc client will also close.

Beta Testing / 1.29 still has using too much CPU.

Boinctasks is still getting into a loop and using over 95% cpu.  It doesn't seem to happen as  often.

So presently I just use BT to check how things are going on my network, fix any problems, and then close  it.

If there is any other  info I can give you let me know.

The status of "Downloading Error" in task view does not match the status shown in the task properties.  It shows just "Downloading". This may or may not cause some problems in rule making as to which one is checked.

There may be others, I just happen to find this one as I was looking around.

it would be nice to have other valid statuses added such as Downloading Error.  Also be able to abort task via rules.  If you get a downloading error  you must first abort the task before it can be reported to the project.

BT is back to its looping and making the client disappear.
#37
I am convienced that BT is the problem as I ran THe client with out BT for approximately 20 hours and no problem with client disappearing or looping.   Have now activated BT again and we shall see what happens.

I wouild like to see a rule that allows comparison between deadline date & time and system date & time so that I could automatically abort those tasks that exceed their deadline.

It looks like it  is trying to connect to the localhost Boinc Client, and just keeps looping .
#42
Boinc version 6.13.12.  I don't know why it isn't running.  It starts when I start BT.  Is there some where I can look to see why it stopped?
#43
Still looping.  NNoticed that Boinc is not running, when I find BT looping.  Have to kill BT with taskmgr and restart it.
#44
I run in administration mode at all times.   Have also changed BT to start Boinc client.  Seems to work okay and I can attach the client.  Have also changed the BOINC folders and sub folders from read only to allow all activities.
#45
I am presently running XP3 32 bit.

I cant seem to get BT to connect to Client without the boincmgr running.
