Wish List / Re: Dark mode please

Pah!  A MS limitation, I should have guessed.  I might change over to JS if it annoys me enough.  What functions would I lose out on?  I think I read the original Boinctasks has more functions?

Windows does not support dark mode in the Framework BoincTasks uses.
One of the reasons I build BoincTasks JS, that supports Dark mode

Right click on the header and check what you want to see.
The Share % is what give a project more or less priority.

Hi Charles,

If you have 1.95 you have the latest version.
You can check with Help -> update check Include Beta versions.

After you make any changes, like docking the computer window, you must use file -> Exit otherwise Windows does not store the values in the registry.

Using the
  • does not close BoincTasks it just hides it, to fully close use exit in the program or on the icon.

TThrottle reads the internal CPU sensor, 14 degrees is a lot, but might be normal.
Go to the Temeratue tab, on the left is the measured temp, the second is the average temp.
On my own CPU is see the same thing, I should get worried if it goes above 100C.

Questions / Downloads and Bug
Last post by CHElliott - May 30, 2025, 02:34:01 PM
Thank you so much for BoincTasks; during the winter, I cannot imagine running BOINC without it. The workunit history is its best feature, and I refer to it all the time.  You certainly deserve more and larger donations, but right now money is a problem.  Let me just say, if I get some, so will you.

I am testing a video card using BOINC, Einstei@Home, and BoincTasks, even though I don't need them for the heat.
The left-most pane below the ribbon of the BoincTasks main window has a list of computers, each having an indication of whether or not the computer is connected.  On BoincTasks Beta 1.95 this pane is not docked, and so it must be created every time the BoincTasks UI is displayed.  Moreover, when the UI is dismissed to the tray, the left-most pane still exists on the Desktop and must be destroyed separately.

BoincTasks sent me a notice suggesting that I download BoincTasks 1.95, but I cannot find a download link anywhere.

Thank you in advance for your kind attention to these matters.

Charles Elliott

Questions / Unstable temperature reading
Last post by hucker - May 12, 2025, 02:25:37 PM
On an old laptop (Intel core i3 M350 4 core CPU), Tthrottle is showing temperatures fluctuating between 70 and 84C in the space of half a second.  Is this normal?  If a part of a CPU was really changing temperature that fast surely it would fall to pieces with thermal stresses?

Here is the output from MSI Afterburner showing the 5 sensors, CPU and core1-4, and the CPU usage.

Isn't this very bad for the CPU?  For now I've turned tthrottle off, and look what happens:

I don't even understand what's happening, surely without throttling, doing more work, it should be hotter now?!

At the moment to copy a project URL I have to copy the whole set of properties, paste it into notepad, then extract the address only.
