Hi Fred,

Since I updated BoincTaks to 1.71 i am not able anymoore to connect to clients in the LAN, like 192.168.1.xx
(I was able to connect to these clients with the previous version)
I am still able to connect with all external machines by the IP adresses  somewhere else on the internet, like i did before.
I can still connect to the local clients by the 192.168.1.xx IP addresses with the Windows BOINC Manager .

Also i am able to connect to the client on the same windows machine (w7 desktop)  when i use 'localhost'  in the IP address field, however when I use 192.168.1.xx, i am not able to connect anymore.

I am wondering if this is experienced by other users?

Regards,
Lub

Go to the menu Show->Log.
Showing all IP addresses on the localhost.

Do you connect with the IP address or the Mac address?

You can also "Enable debug mode" in the log and click on the Debug Setting button and check Connecting.
Exit and restart BoincTasks.

I had both IP and Mac Addresses showing up for the local computers.
After removal of the Mac addresses, so  only operating on IP's it is working allright now.

Great tool. Thanks very much  for building and maintaining BoincTasks!

Can you check the lines Get localhost IP in the BoincTasks log and see if that's indeed the address of local network.

fixed it.

I had to delete all the MAC address from the "computer" tab and they re-appeared

This is most likely the cause 2 localhost IP addresses.

So it's probably searching the in the wrong net.
Is one of them a virtual machine?

fred

The next BoincTasks 1.75 should solve most of these issues.
