Check the crash files in C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/eFMer/BoincTasks/crash

Keeps dying on startup with this in the log. Tried deleting the crash directory as it suggests without any joy. Tried re-installing without any luck. This is the first time I've had any issues.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Why don't you use the latest one?

first of all check in folder
C:\Program Files\eFMer\BoincTasks\lang\

if this file exists:
BoincTasks_ENG.btlang

and if it's of the same version of the program used, try to un-install the actual version on your computer and completely remove the directory
C:\Program Files\eFMer\

and do a new installation if possible with the latest one (1.38) or the one you're using (1.32) and check if anything is correct.

If possible I like to see the crash files.
C:\Documents and Settings\Gareth_Lock\Application Data\eFMer\BoincTasks\crash\
Copy them to a temp folder, so you can send them to me.
Next remove all files in the crash folder.

Now go to: C:\Program Files\eFMer\BoincTasks and delete the whole lang folder.
Next try to install the latest beta first: http://www.efmer.eu/boinc/boinc_tasks/download_beta.html

Make sure you run the installer as Administrator.

After installation, make sure you can see the file: C:\Program Files\eFMer\BoincTasks\lang\BoincTasks_ENU.btlang as the user that starts BoincTasks.

And I LIKE TO SEE THE CRASH FILES. Use a program like Dropbox to store the dmp files.

OK Fred... Exactly what dump files would you like to see... Even ZIPped, you're looking at over 100MB. Have got my own server, so rather than spending an hour or more uploading the zipfile to some anon page, I'll stick it up at...

Let me know when you're done with them so I can free up the space. Got to go out for a while, so I'll try the rest of your solution when I get back.

Got them.

OK... Just implemented the rest of the solution and it seems to be working at the moment, whether this is a permanent fix, it's too early to say. As for the link in my previous post, it's noiw dead. I do however still have the zipfile on another machine should I need to put it back there.

Thanks for the assistance, would still be interested in what caused it to so suddenly break like that though.

The problem is probably fixed in V 1.33, something to do with deleting an old notice item.
