I noticed some interesting behavior after I installed TThrottle... Two identical crashes, both occurring when I was away from the computer. The symptoms of the crash included non responsiveness of the computer, including a replicated task bar at the top of the screen, and alternating black/white screen sometimes with an error message in an odd (non-system) font. Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work, but everything seems ok after doing a hard restart of the computer. Whatever the error/crash might be, it causes BOINC WUs to error out immediately as I have exceeded my WU limit for this host on various projects.

After removing Tthrottle from the startup, the host has run for about 20 hours without replicating the error. Until installing Tthrottle, I have not experienced any crashes or erroring WUs. Any pointers on what to look for would be much appreciated. If you would like info from the errored WUs, I can provide that if necessary.

TThrtottle 1.69 (64-bit)
BOINC 6.6.36
Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) SP2
AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ (Brisbane)
4 GB

Strange, but to see more I like the TThrottle log.
Exit BOINC and check close all.
Next start TThrottle, go to the logging tab and copy everything in it and send it to me.

It is almost impossible to say what caused the problem. I have no report of these kind of crashes .... yet.
You can try running TThrottle for a while with the Automatic active unchecked so it will do nothing bu read temperatures.
In that way it may be possible to isolate the problem.

I ran with "Auto Active" unchecked per your suggestion, and the crash happened again but with a little higher functionality in the user interface, at least for a while. I was able to open the BOINC Manager and read the Messages tab, which indicated "DLL initialization errors" for the various WUs that errored out. I couldn't seem to get the Tthrottle window open, and Firefox would just crash if I tried to open it... I did get some error windows saying that Windows Explorer had crashed. Apparently, something doesn't like Tthrottle.
