Questions / SOLVED: Upgraded to BoincTasks...
Last post by gb009761 - August 20, 2025, 09:57:57 PM
Hi, I'm looking for some help.

I've been using BoincTasks for'many,many years', and after getting a new computer/downloading the latest version (which works), I decided to upgrade from an earlier version on a different/older computer - one that had been working fine before, I just wanted to use the new features. Unfortunately, since then, I've been having issues with it...

Basically, nothing seems to connect. From the log file, I can see the following lines repeated;
20 August 2025 - 22:08:59 Connect, password ---- Host: Franciss-THINK, IP: localhost, Port: 31416, scheduler request host ID doesn't match authenticator (Password)
20 August 2025 - 22:09:00 Connect ---- Try to connect to: Host: Franciss-THINK, IP: localhost, MAC: , Port: 31416, Thread ID: 10328

I've tried doing a 'clean install' (i.e., removing the previous version(s) in totality and downloading again), but I'm still not getting past this stage. Thus, nothing is showing up on the Projects/Tasks tab, and I'm getting a 'computer not connected' symbol in the 'sidebar computer selection' sidebar (in the 'Status' field against my localhost computer, it's showing 'Password, Connected').

Quote from: Marks007 on July 25, 2025, 09:54:10 AMI would like to get it off the graph, is there a way to make it blank or have the graph not show it
C:\Program Files\eFMer\TThrottle\examples tthrottle.xml

Adjust the affected core by -15 (degrees) and the graph should be at 0.

make tthrottle.xml and paste:
<TThrottle>
  <PROCESSOR>
    <core_adjust>-15;0;0;0</core_adjust>
  </PROCESSOR>
</TThrottle>

Place the correct tthrottle.xml in C:\Program Files\eFMer\TThrottle\

Quote from: Marks007 on July 24, 2025, 10:37:41 AMCore 1 is always 15 °C
Core 0 & Core 16 are  68 °C which correct
The rest of the cores are blank,
I hope that helps
That's strange. I would say the Core 1 sensor isn't working properly.
However, I don't think it will affect anything because the other sensors are correct.

Quote from: Marks007 on July 18, 2025, 04:22:20 AMHi,
I have a AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX with 64 cores and 128 threads. It only sees two core temperatures, it does show 32 cores.
I use HWiNFO to get the actual temperatures which works fine and corrects the Core 0 temperature
My problem if the temperature reading for core 0 is correct the reading for core 1 is incorrect.
Does anyone know how I fix it or remove it
Is the core temperature wrong or has it an offset, like alwasy xx degrees off.

Wish List / Re: Extra column on tasklist

Isn't this a BoincTasks request.
You can add a rule to suspend tasks when they reach more than % or stall.

Wish List / Extra column on tasklist
Last post by Mysteron347 - July 21, 2025, 07:55:30 AM
I'd find it useful to have an optional "slot" column on the task list, to show the slot in which a WU is running.

Bonus: Click on the slot number to open an editor on the stderr file on that slot.

Could also add a "bunkering" option so that selected WUs could be automatically suspended when they reach xx% complete until xx time.

Could license this option for revenue...
