Questions / Exit dialog missing.
January 18, 2014, 12:44:04 AM
For recent versions of TT:  when right clicking on the tray icon there are only 2 choices,  "Open" or "About", no longer an "Exit" choice.  This behavior is the same on all of my machines.  The only way I've found to exit TT is to kill it in task manager.  What am I missing?  (Windows 7-64)

BTW, the /silent option is nice for installations.  Any way to also have it force TT to exit as one of its actions?

Fred, thanks for a great  utility!

Beta testing problems / 5.92
August 20, 2012, 03:08:44 PM
Had to remove a 5850 card in one machine because of fan problems.  Replaced it with a 4770, so the box now has 1 5850 and 1 4770.  TThrottle isn't seeing the 4770 GPU.  Windows sees it, so does BOINC (and it works normally) and CPU-z, GPU-z and Afterburner.  Only TThrottle misses it.  I tried re-installing 5.92.  Then tried deleting all TT directories and all TT references in the registy.  TT still doesn't see the 4770.

Custom status sorting was reset to default.  Hopefully won't happen with every new version :)

Wish List / Changing DCF on the fly
July 20, 2011, 02:30:35 PM
Would it be possible to allow changing a projects DCF on the fly for a machine (much like can be done with debt)?  I run into frequent instances where a given task takes an inordinate amount of time and totally messes up the DCF which can then only be corrected by going to the machine, stopping BOINC and manually editing the DCF for the project, then restarting BOINC.  Of course this restarts any WUs that may have gone for hours without checkpointing :(

Beta Testing / BT 1.03

Changing the priority in "Expert" doesn't change the priority (according to task manager).  Do I need a different way to see the thread priority?  Task manager always says boinctasks64.exe is at "normal".

Beta Testing / problem with boinctray.exe
February 11, 2011, 07:55:42 PM
There's a problem with boinctray.exe.  It doesn't unload when boinc is closed.  Sometimes boincmgr will refuse to reconnect to the client until the boinctray process is killed manually.  It's been reported, nobody ever fixes the problem.  This has been going on for a long time.  Kind of irritating.

Beta Testing / BT 0.89
November 22, 2010, 05:00:21 PM
Installed 0.89.  BIG problems.  It crashes and restarts every 4 minutes or less (the longest it would run between dump-files was 4 minutes).  Every 6 second update period various computers' projects and tasks disappear and reappear.  Had no crashes at all with the last few previous versions.  Tried to go back to 0.88 and this happened:

Open file:D:\Apps\BoincTasks\lang\BoincTasks_ENU.btlang
Group: <GroupViewTasks> string header in pos 64, <StatusAbortedByUser> not found
Group: <GroupBarViewSelect> string header in pos 125, <Notices> not found
Group: <GroupMenuMain> string header in pos 168, <ShowNotices> not found
Group: <GroupMenuMain> string header in pos 169, <ShowNoticesS> not found
Group: <GroupWindowStatusMessage> string header in pos 731, <Notices> not found

Deleted the language folder and reinstalled 0.88, still wouldn't run.  Had to delete just about everything to get back to 0.88.  The ability to get back to a previous version simply by reinstalling would be a good idea.

On a lesser note the huge numbers in field 3 have now moved to projects that have WUs and are correct in projects without WUs, so the situation reversed itself.  The nci projects now seem correct although FreeHAL is down so won't be totally sure until it resurrects itself, maybe 3 days or so  ;)

Questions / History tab problems
October 09, 2010, 03:22:54 PM
Since changing to a custom date format in BT v0.78, the "Completed" and "Reported" fields in "History" are blank.

My custom date string is:  %m-%d-%y  %H:%M

Also (not such a big deal) in "History" "Elapsed Time" is still being reported in the d,HH:MM:SS format even after HHH:MM:SS is selected in Settings/View:

AQUA@home   1.14 IQUANA (mt1)   iq64A1_101006a_19_209_0     01d,15:30:22 (03d,04:04:40)     2.00C  Reported: OK (u)

Wish List / Display of time options
August 20, 2010, 04:37:32 PM
Would it be possible to add a choice of formats for the Elapsed Time, Time Left & Checkpoint tabs?

01d,11:32:11 (02d,21:55:21) takes up more real estate than
35:32:11 (69:55:21) and provides no more useful information.
It would be nice to get the column widths under control a bit.

Beta testing problems / Mixed NVidia and ATI GPUs
August 18, 2010, 05:10:03 PM
For the first time, in v1.91 (didn't try v1.90) NVidia and ATI GPUs in the same system reported correctly in the temperature window.  Unfortunately only the NVidia temperature is shown when hovering over the taskbar icon.  More importantly, only the NVidia temp is passed on to BoincTasks (which reports the NVidia temp for the ATI card also).

Upgrading to v2.00 gets back to the behavior where only the NVidia temp is recognized at all.  To go back to v1.91 I had to uninstall TThrottle, delete the program directory and the registry entries.  At that point the temp window started reporting both the NVidia and ATI temps correctly again.  Unfortunately the correct ATI temp is still not being passed on to BoincTasks.

Multiple GPUs of a single type (either ATI OR NVidia) have reported correctly for quite a few TThrottle versions.

BTW, Thanks much for your hard work on a couple of GREAT programs!
