Just upgraded to Version 1.72 and after I add a project, I can't Right-Click on any of the projects in the current list anymore on ANY system.  It starts working again after I restart BOINCTasks...

Help!

Well, thanks for the improvements and fixes. The things I really like is no more hangups on computer changes and the proper editing of the cc_config.xml files!

Excellent work so far, still more to test...

After testing the Beta, I went back to 1.40... this morning, I saw the release to 1.45 and tried it.

!.45 has the same problem as the Beta... When I "Un-check" a computer in the Computers Tab, it goes into a 60 second timeout and becomes unresponsive. If I "Re-Check" a computer, same thing.

No expert or other settings I have found make any difference.

Well, I've tried all the settings and set reconnect to ZERO and timeout to 5 seconds... nothing changes behavior.

For instance, I add a computer that is turned off and it goes into a 60 second timeout thing and becomes un-responsive. This happens whenever I make ANY change to connected computers; add, remove, connect, disconnect.

Two Problems:

#1- If a machine goes offline and comes back, takes forever (if ever) to come alive... kinda hangs for a long time.

#2- Changing a computer NAME while it is connected causes program to hang forever...

These two seem related somehow..

UNCHECKING the "Show GPU" tasks fixes things...

2) This isn't a BoincTasks entry, so something else is putting it there.....
Try logging in as administrator or start in safe mode.

3) BoincTasks settings messages tab -> "Keep Messages" fill in something higher by a factor of at least 10. 50000 or 100000.
Otherwise when you select the messages tab it will delete all excess messages and that can sometimes take a while.

Safe mode, Run as admin, can't get rid of it for some reason... so maybe something corrupted and new windows install will fix.

I'll give the messages thing a try and see if that helps!

Beta Testing / BT-1.30 new bugs?

Howdy again!

I have two problems at least.

1) No matter the settings, I can't ever right-click on a project or task and get "Properties".  BT-1.25 the same problem. Deleted all keys I could and all user data and fresh install 1.30 fixed.

2) While uninstalling/reinstalling and going between 1.25/1.30, there is some register key eFMer/BoincTasks/thetechnopath.com that can't be delected or permissions changed under any method I've tried...

3) BT-1.30 After the system has run a long time, I select Messages Tab and the lines jump around a LOT like it can't figure out where to start or stop... seems to flicker between correct and 1 page back... eventually it stops. Note: Actually looks like it is swapping data between two different buffers or something like that.

Any help with those items much appreciated.

Well, I still see the funny number displays all over the place in 1.19. Like in the Projects Tab, the Credits, Avg. Credits etc...

All the numbers look like this: 2'549'425.0 instead of 2,549,425.0 and that is the sort of thing I saw in the 1.16-1.18 Preferences times and such.

Maybe an equate or define somewhere buggy boo?

Hmm, found something new with 1.16-1.18...

Extra/BOINC Preference/Processor tab:

In the "Other options" area, the "Switch between applications every _______  minutes" text window.

I used to be able to set 99999 and now if I set above 999.0, I get "9'999.00" displayed on re-entry. Exit/re-enter again, I get 9.

Looks like it doesn't like anything above 999 anymore.

LOL!  I went back and checked after it had been running a while and they were all gone!!! Good grief! So, I stopped Boinc-client and shut down BOINCTasks, the restarted BOINCTasks then restarted local host client and this time only 7 appeared!

Oh well, mine it not to reason why the CSRSS does that... purely windows thing to correct bugs I read online...

Not sure if you know about this or if anything can be done, but when v1.15 starts, it creates 14 instances of "conhost.exe" and 13 of them never go away. After stopping BOINCTasts, the 13 are left in memory.



Starting and stopping (Exiting) BOINCTasks multiple doesn't seem to add or subtract from the 14 running/13 exited instances.
