Hi Fred,
I think this have no sense if you're (and we should) run BT in just the "Server" only
one version for all the network, but now I'm running two instances of BT in two
different computers, one x86 version and another in x64, but I like to have all the
settings same in both computers.
could it be possible to export these settings and apply to the desired computer.
e.g. colours, %, sorting, etc. except computers.
Quote from: Corsair on October 09, 2009, 03:45:51 PMI will make 0.21 a release version soon.
Hi Fred,
something strange:
right click in task bar icon --> Update
current version: 0.21
latest version: 0.20
(this is like TT, I understand is a beta version)
click on button update and I'm redirected to this link:
http://www.efmer.eu/download/boinc/tasks/setup_boinc_tasks_0_2_0.exe
that the browser gives me error.
in previous version was something like
current version: 0.2.0
latest version: 0.20
I think there was some inconsistency in previous version that has been fixed in this one.
Quote from: Pepo on October 09, 2009, 11:30:50 AMThe port thing is still in the wish list. I can only do so much
I have two computers defined, one of them has IP "localhost:31417". If (also) this one is selected and I press "Connect to selected computers", I get a popup:
but just the first time since the application launch. On subsequent connects nothing similar happens. Does my port trigger something unexpectedly wrong?
It takes a lot couple of seconds (4-7) for BT to terminate since Exit is selected, even if no connection to computers is present. Why?
Quote from: Corsair on October 08, 2009, 08:58:56 PM1) Ok waiting to run should be 0% the rest is ok.
Hi Fred,
1 - % running CPU/GPU: waiting to run, ready to report and uploading is showing % when should be 0 (no indicator).
2 - should be added one colour for low performance of CPU/GPU. (*)
3 - should be one entry to select the % considered as Low Performance (normal about 25%)
4 - the windows Project refresh continuously instead of time entered in Extra - Setting. (same in transfers and messages).
5 - still CAL work shown as CPU work.
6 - what is the double time shown in CPU tasks between brackets??
7 - per defect should be all computers activated, but not marked, and if you want to "go" to one computer in this case just click on the one that you want to see.
8 - ref 1 why not referring to 1 instead to 100, on that way could be better the alignment, and for easier programming I think is enough with the number without the indicator.
(*) I've seen that is "Error CPU Ratio", but should be an option as for 3.
will see if I remember something else.
Quote from: idahofisherman on October 07, 2009, 10:59:26 PMOk there is something wrong there. The problem is I mainly test the combined mode
When I am in the display projects screen and right click mouse to look at properties, I get the wrong URL for the project I have selected. Ex. Selecting WCG project and look at properties I get Distrrtgen projects URL. It seems to be random as to what URL it picks to use. I am running in one window for each computer.
Exiting the BTB and restarting it makes not difference. Sorting by project or resorting does not make any difference.
Quote from: Corsair on October 06, 2009, 12:10:26 PMOk number of decimals adjustable, 10
Hi Fred,
I've seen the caption for that, but now there are more tester ithe forum and I think they could say something about that, I think is enough just with the number, not the bar, that will gives you more work and more CPU work, I guess.
another thing could be something user defined about numbers presentation, e.g. number with 1 decimal, 2 decimals, etc. so an option to show x decimals in the numbers of BoinTasks.

Hi Fred,
if somebody knows about doing icons, could be a guest for some customizable bar icons, could be??
(of course not me, my artistic sense is not very good for developing them)![]()
Quote from: idahofisherman on October 06, 2009, 11:26:44 AMOk I finally get it... On the wish list: In the graph, only show projects of the selected computer(s).
#4 Yes I use the combined mode most of the time. It seems to work in the uncombined mode.
I aee it works when you select a project that is physically on the computer selected. The problem here is that you need to know what projects are on what computer.
It would be better is only the projects that are on the select computer were display for selection. The way around this is to always select all the computers in the combined mode (Maybe this should be the default) then regardless of which project selected it would display in stead of guessing which projects are on the selected computer.
Presently it useable but must be aware of the above problems. This could be combersome if the user has a large number of computers and projects. Also I do not have all the same projects assigned to each computer.
In the uncombined mode, when you select projects, it would be nice if only the projects for the current window (computer) were displayed. Because again you need to know what projects belong to what computer and I run approximately 42 different projects spread accross three computers.
Thanks for you help. The more I use BoincTasks the better I like it.

Fred
1 COmbined Panel:
I would like to see the multiple computers merged together so that all the same status are together across all computers.
The ability to sort the tasks via the status as to what is shown first instead of alphabetically. Example: I would like to see all tasks that are running at the top, followed by the task waiting to start, followed by all tasks ready to report, etc. This would have to be individually controled in preferences. Some thing like the color scheme is.
2 Individual Panel:
The ability to sort the task via the status as to what is shown first instead of alphabetically. Example: I would like to see all tasks that are running at the top, followed by the task waiting to start, followed by all tasks ready to report, etc. This would have to be individually controled in preferences.
3 Overall:
Wish that we could issue commands to the BoincMgrs such as add a project, update project, suspend project, etc. All the commands that the BoincMgr can issue. This way the user does not have to go to each individual machine to effect those tasks on said machine.
1 You can do that by setting the first sorting to |2 in the computer, thus disabling computer sorting and than set the sorting v on the status.
2 Sorting can be done on the status, there is actually a 2 way sorting one with the ^v (last sorting) and ^2 v2 (first sorting) and |2 (no sorting). the ^2 sorting can be set by holding the Ctrl button.
3 All the extras are on my wish list, but I waited with the more dangerous commands for the program to be proven stable.
But update and suspend are there only add/reset/remove projects are missing.
Use the right mouse button after selecting the projects. And there is Extra->update all projects.
Quote from: Corsair on October 06, 2009, 09:56:43 AMStrange, it may be that there are momentary false readings from the GPU. And it's the same driver that does the GPU work.....
Hi Fred,
TT 1.68 --> Tab rule: if GPU temperature > 80 sound reset 45
Tab BOINC --> exclude CPU/include GPU: cuda & astronomy_0.20_ati_x64
from time to time, mainly if I empty the milkyway warehouse and some after I resume the work (allow new work, etc.),
some minutes after this I get the alarm, I go to TT --> Tab rule and I see that rule marked in red, but the temperature shown in the miniwindow and in the graphic at any moment has reached 80, normal when processing with GPU from 65 to 70 deg. Celisus.![]()

Hi Fred,
How could be done??
when you're running GPU work in the computer that is installed BT everytime that the program screen has to be refreshed, there are some 1/2 second or less that you see empty and scrolling to be complete, that is less visible when BT is installed in a computer that is not running GPU tasks.
could it be done in a way of not to see this scrolling??
What screen? the tasks screen.
What do you see exactly, what do you mean by scrolling does the scrol bar gets longer or shorter.
instead of seeing the refresh of the windows nearly not seen by the human eye, in this computer with xp x64 and GPU work it last less than 1 second but it's like a curtain starting from the top and finishing in the bottom. that only happens when GPU is processing. as far as I see that happens in all screens.
Quote from: idahofisherman on October 06, 2009, 12:57:40 AM1. can you make a screen shot. (yes copy text from the message box is in the wish list) so I can see what you mean.
1. Time is not appearing for each message in the message panel.
3. Charting does not seem to work. Screen flickers a couple of times and then nothing.
