Safe all your work before using this version.

In the tab general throttle, (name doesn't fit anymore, suggestions)

The rules go into the rules line (Top) and become active when you press Add.
Warning they become active at once....
The check Enable General Throttle does.... NOTHING.
The exclude does... NOTHING.

Does a emergency shutdown so be careful it shuts down quickly without saving anything.
if cpu temperature > 70 shutdown

This engages the full general throttle at this temperature all processed are throttled
if cpu temperature > 64 throttle
The set temperature is still the temperature that will be regulated. But when the General Throttle engages all programs will be throttled.

if cpu temperature > 68 email
This sends an email.

Fixed problems:
The throttle did not go low enough but to 25% instead of 5%.
The threads lost is gone, instead the rebuild time is 1/2 when threads are lost. But these frequent warnings are gone.

Added:
The update version check is now done in a better way.

benDan

I tested using 45/48/50 and cranked up stress64.

The emergency throttle functioned as speced.

I would like to have more options for each phase.
The ability to execute a file (with parameters) would add more flexability.

I have a .bat file to beep to call me to the computer when the problem starts:
start /min "C:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\winamp.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\SpeedFan\Balloon.mp3"
timeout /T "6"
taskkill /IM "winamp.exe" /f

I have a .bat file to hibernate so I can wake up after a cool down period and see what is running that caused the problem.
powercfg -h on
%WINDIR%\system32\shutdown.exe /h

I think that alarms and flashing lights should be part of the final GUI.

This is looking good ... more to come.

Corsair

Hi all,

I'm testing in my laptop (xp pro x32) with 80/68/72, now it looks like that the throttling is much more efective.

I'll try when I'll come back home to do the same switches but lower values for the desktops.

why not "General Throttling" ---> Throttle Specs

the 2nd (tm) now is correct, and not any more strange symbols. :D

happy w-end, Corsair. ;)

Hi All,

I'm testing now in my desktops (xp pro x64) and by a typing error
I've seen that is working pretty well.  ;D

I think that with the options that you give in the "wish List" is enough
and no much more could be added in the way of Trottling, so could be
fine an arrangement like this:

[Thick box] text [integer box] action

e.g.
[Thick box] if cpu temperature above [integer box] shutdown
[Thick box] if cpu temperature above [integer box] throttle
[Thick box] if cpu temperature above [integer box] email
[Thick box] if cpu temperature below [integer box] email
[Thick box] if gpu temperature below [integer box] email

It could be esair and not needed the big windows, on that way the user
could not made errors on typing or copying.

Cheers, Corsair.

You could still make the typo.
But when this is worked out a bit I want to make this one as expert and a easier one for default.

<<But when this is worked out a bit I want to make this one as expert and a easier one for default.>>

I ask you to please add the ability to execute a program or bat file.

Thanks

I will.

A new one. 1.6.1.1. A 32 and 64 bit version. 3 files + 1 wav.
I updated the email client radically to include encryption. So it should work now with Gmail.com etc.

The rules have expended throttle email shutdown execute1 execute2 execute3 sound

if cpu temperature > 70 sound reset 60    [plays alarm.wav from the exe directory at 70 degrees, it resets a 60. Meaning the sound will activate above 70 and will only sound again if the temperature drops below 60 and goes up again above 70.
Reset is valid with all commands except throttle and shutdown ;D.

the command execute1 2 3 try to execute a bat file in the same location as the exe called execute1.bat  2 3
if cpu temperature > 74 execute1 reset 50 may bring your computer in sleep mode. (if the bat file tels it to...)

The Mail now includes a check TLS (default on). This is the recommended secure way to send E-Mails.
A log file is written to:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\eFMer\TThrottle\maillog.txt
Vista: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\eFMer\TThrottle\maillog.txt

Nice to look at the log to see what is going on. And I'm interested in the log. Warning: do not include it on this board, as some email servers send the password back as acknowledge, for everyone to see ???.

I will probably remove the exclude programs....

Need to rename the tab to ... rules ??

Hi Fred,

after setting the mail for gmail, I got one window with the text: TLS not supported by the POP3 server.

and this is the content of the log (because nothing is private in this log:
smtp.gmail.com = 74.125.79.111
Mininum response
No TLS available.
QUIT

Minimum response = port not available I think....
Use port 25. It works fine with me.

Check tthrottle.exe properties is should be 1.6.1.1. There is nothing visible changed except the new commands for sound and starting a bat file and of course a whole new mail client. ;D

Ok that's it <send HELO/EHLO first>, he wants to say hello again, I will make a new version tomorrow that says HELO a second time, be more friendly.
He wants to make sure the TLS pipe is working.
Already noticed something like that in Gmail (works ok).
